Just in case anyone wants to talk about it. Our live events are a bit 'different' to say the least. I am looking at a slicker way of doing it but personally I think it is quite funny as it is....

I'll have a proper look as they're having actual chats in chat rooms in kuforum. I missed Stuart's last month, there's one next week with David Wailing, I'll see if it's any different.TBH I quite like the fact that you quote the question, it's less confusing to find out who the writer is replying to :), and that it happens here. That said, some people said they didn't like the current format.
Ignite wrote: "Some people are never happy. I'm always happy. Depressing, isn't it? :)"Lmao!
Unfortunately I'm going to miss this one on Friday. :( I've really been looking forward to it too!
My bestest friend has booked the golf club for her 40th birthday party and I really must attend.
We're all wearing fancy dress n all!
Thanks everyone who's coming. Patti, you make sure you have a really fun night, and we want photos !Can I ask you if you have any questions that we need to ask on your behalf Patti? It would be much appreciated :)
Oh yes, I'll sort my questions and pm you when I have time, Lorraine. Thanks for telling me to do that! Remind me if I forget, okay?
I've got a purple dancing queen jumpsuit and a blonde Farrah Fawcett wig I'm planning on wearing.
Haven't tried the jumpsuit on yet though.
Another think for the to-do list!
Oh I hope I've got blue glittery eyeshadow!
I haven't participated in any other than reading the day after but I wouldn't like it to be in real time chat. That can get so crazy and you'd have a hard time as an author keeping up with it.
That's my thinking Elle.I think it might be a bit manic. But we like manic. Don't we?
I do think the occasional live chat night might be a hoot, though.
Especially if Simon has been down the Pheasant.
Or up the Pheasant. Or sideways the Pheasant.
The Pheasant is rather approachable, isn't it?
Live chat would be amazing I do agree. Even if it's just about a subject - maybe not so much a Q&A but a discussion :D
Ooooooh looking forward to tomorrow night, gonna spend the evening thinking about A LOT of questions !
Hi all :)Just want to say thank you for all the amazing support I've gotten from this group since I joined. It's another world here, isn't it :)
And proper looking forward to the live event tonight. I'll have all three kids buzzing around, so forgive me if it's a bit mad. I'll try and feed them early and clear up before it all starts, mind. Then hopefully things can go pretty smooth.
Please feel free to aak absolutely anything at all.
Apologies for my absence of late. OU story due in. Finished it today. Been a nightmare, but The Drowning of Jeremiah Fishfinger is now complete :)
Bless him.
Have a great day all, and see you tonight :)
Ian
Hope everyone's got plenty of questions ! Patti, anything you want to ask before you're off to your party?
Just one question. Could someone come round and stop Charlie from kicking the football at the patio doors please? No . . . okay, I'll just have to ride the storm then . . . ;)
You don't want us all to land on your doorstep Ian.... Becausethe football will be the last of your worries !
Ah, but surely you could busy yourselves with the washing up and the cleaning of the floors, and perhaps a little coffee one sugar, please . . .That wasn't a good start, was it.
;)
Ian, thanks for coming along. It will probably be a bit bonkers but great fun.Lorraine, thanks again for doing everything.
I will close this thread In ten minutes and open the main one......
Ian, please leave me a bit of the vodka... I didn't realise I was providing the drinks until Simon told me!
Vodka it is, GL. I'll see if I can keep Stu off it, but I'm not promising anything. Not really his style though, so I think you should be okay :)

Now.
Wow. These people know how to talk. That was a great interview..... Abide with me is available on Kindle here :

I hope Ian's ok, it seemed to me that while we had lots of posts in the past events, this is one of the ones that got the most questions asked. Ian did really well :)
It's not really much now Kath, the setting up of the event is getting into a bit of a pattern really... pfff ... even that I manage to turn into a "routine" -- I'm such a freak !
If I was twenty years younger I would have been in the back row with you Nicola...Seriously though, I'm glad you enjoyed it, please hang around and join in some of the other dicussions.
LOL! I'm 35 this month, and was feeling old! That's cheered me up Simon! I thought misbehaving was required for this group?!
Typical! Missed it. Again. Only just read Simon's message. Despite being in the UK I sometimes wonder if I am living in the right time zone.
Glad to see you all had fun and it was a busy thread.
David
