Not as good as MidSummer's Night

This shorter novel just didn't have the same lively characters and mixture of humor and sadness of MidSummer's Night. However, the poignant story of the woman who hides the German soldier in her apartment so he can escape dying at the front is worth a read.

Julie, I want to thank you for comparing Invention of Curried Sausage to MidSummer's Night. I have read the former and liked it very much. Now I look forward to reading Midsummer since you say it's better!
