SOLVED. Father's search for missing daughter: Mystery/Thriller [s]

I read this a few months ago and my mum and I can't remember the name of the book.

Set in the UK, it's about a young girl about 15 who doesn't come home after a music audition. She has a slight disagreement with her mother about her weight but it's not exactly a raging argument.

Anyway, a few years go by and the parents don't know if she's alive or dead until the father and son see what looks to her on a television programme about the homeless.

So the Dad goes to see the tv presenters to find out where the footage of her was filmed and the search begins. Alone the way the Dad becomes friends with a young homeless boy who got into trouble over the rape of a girl (turns out he took the blame for his brother and after being in youth detention they didn't want him at home).

In the end it turns out the girl is the daughter, she's the girlfriend of a gang leader known as The Pagan.

The book ends with her finding out the Dad's looking for her but there isnt' a reunion in the book. The book ends with a phone call presumably from her.
