Tan Qi | 3 comments Thank you. I observed that clicking on the Amazon link under 'Get a copy' leads you to a result page yet some of the other book goes straight to their product page.

Does this have anything to do with the 10/13 ISBN inserted or time is needed for the whole system to get itself together?

That depends on Amazon, not anything at this end.

Tan Qi | 3 comments I see. Thanks for clarifying. Another quick question.

Does adding another format which has a different ISBN/ASIN (Kindle Edition, Lulu epub, etc) for the same title create a new book profile page on goodreads or will it be displayed on the same page with the paperback version?

It will create a new edition, with its own page. However, it can then be combined (linked) with the other edition into a single work. Each edition will have its own page, but they will show all reviews, ratings, etc. And the "more editions" section (after the page caching expires, up to 24-48 hours) will show the other edition(s) and allow users to click through to them. For example.

Are you suggesting something like the "copy to draft"-function that the record collector site Discogs.com is using? That one allows you to copy the data from an existing release so you can then revise that draft to create another release/edition.

I don't know if you can do that at Goodreads, but I find it to be a useful feature when adding to my record collection at Discogs.

What you can do is click on "other editions", then "add a new edition." This will populate the title and author fields, which saves you a little labor.

Then combine with the other eds.

David Glasgow (davidmglasgow) | 28 comments Beautiful. I was missing that intermediate step of checking the "other editions" page. Thanks, Lobstergirl!
