Gavin I always find these what are you reading now threads a great place to discover new books!.

so what book are you reading at the moment?.

Are you enjoying it?.

message 2: by Gavin (new)

Gavin I'm currently readingCinder it's a sci-fi re-telling of the Cinderella fairytale.

It's pretty good so far. It's following the fairytale while still telling it's own story.

message 3: by Naomi (new)

Naomi I am currently reading (actually re-reading) Clockwork Prince, book 2 of the prequel series to City of Bones.

Gavin I've finished Cinder by Marissa Meyer. It was really good and while it retold the Cinderella fairytale it also told a great story of it's own. Cinder and the prince were both great characters. I highly recommend it for any who are interested, and personally can't wait for book two.

I'm now starting to read Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. I've had this book for years so I am really looking forward to finally reading it!.

Hey Naomi, I did not know Clockwork Angel was a prequel to City of Bones. What is the best book to start the series with?.

Naomi I think City of Bones because it explains the whole concept of Shadowhunters and their history. There are also some things you need to know (like after you've read three books from the series) before you fully understand the prequel. But i dont think it would hurt to try reading the prequel first, just that it may be a bit confusing.

Water for Elephants. Kinda different from my usual books as it is completely from a boy/old man perspective. also the whole circus theme sounds fab.

Some good series would be: The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, Vampire Academy, Bloodlines, The Iron Fey, Beautiful Creatures, Blue Bloods, Thirst, Private, House of Night, Alex Rider, Inkheart, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (aka The Millenium Trilogy), The Hunger Games, The Chronicles Of Nick, Morganville Vampires, The Unseen, Evernight, and Night World.

Though I will say that I've been waiting for almost 10 years for the last book of Night World...

Just a few of the series that I've read and loved... c:

Just finished reading Eldest, the second book in the Inheritence Cycle. ~ Now I'm just starting on Brisingr , the third book.

Hopefully this will answer some questions I have and hopefully I won't freak out after I finish because I don't have the last book yet. D:

Cindy (cat2010) The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. This story is fascinating because the main character has a difficult past and uses the flowers definition to express herself, (example= Thistle means hate). The author does an excellent job of portraying the feelings of abandonment and revenge of the main character by showing verses telling. I haven't finished, I am half through and still loving it.

My teen daughter is reading "Starter's" she loves it.
