- I’m going to read one How-to book. How-to what, I don’t know – just something useful.
- One book involving science, maybe A Brief History of the Universe. In all likelihood, something much more dumbed-down.
- One book in Spanish. I speak Spanish, but rarely read Spanish literature. If you have any suggestions let me know. As a reference, I hate stuff by Borges, but I actually enjoyed El Cantar Del Mio Cid
- I would like to start reading books about the American presidents. I would like to read biographies on the first two American presidents this year.
- One classic.
- One religious book.
If you have any suggestions that meet this criteria – I would appreciate it. I'm going to start with the classic - The Animal Farm. I "read" it with my class in school once, but I have no recollection whatsoever of cracking the book open.

On the author a-z challenge I only need letters O, Q, T, U, V, X, Y, and Z. Some I have books for other's I'll have to find...not as confident I'll get this before my birthday (keeping the same time goals).
A - Z Title Challenge...I still need Q and Z...I've got a Q on my to read list I still need a Z.

Done with book one, Flashman by George MacDonald Fraser.

Read: 11/ Goal: 24 by 1/1/09
Started January 1, 2008.
I'm about where I should be... almost done with June's book.

As a goal I want to reduce the stack of un-read books I already have on my shelf, which is about 400 titles at the moment. To achieve this I will also try to reduce my shopping, so as not to have more books coming in than I can manage to read...
My decision which book to read next is purely spontaneous, so I can't compile a list of titles to post here. But I can name a few titles which I will read immediately after publication this year:
1. Breaking Dawn (Twilight book 4)
2. Descent into chaos (Vampire Apocalypse book 2)
3. Just after Sunset, the new Stephen King book

I'm also doing the A-Z author challenge and have read 22. Still need to do: R, U, V and Y.

My original goal was to beat last year's 49, and read 50 books. Since January, though, I've come to discover that that goal was going to be easily surpassed. So I've reset my goal, and it's now 75. I'm currently at 51, and am in the middle of two books.

I'm attempting to continue my 50 books by Dec 31st, but I think I'm going to extend it to Jan. since I'm not reading as much in Nov. because I'm participating in the Nanowrimo.org write a book in a month competition. I've read 32 so far but I've seriously slowed down. Ah well, no biggie.

Last night I hit 22 books (22 books in 33 days = 49%) pretty much exactly where I need to meet my goal.

September 2006 - Present: I have read 176 books. I am on 177th book now. Which is Where There's Smoke - Simon Beckett.
Now if someone can answer what I am meant to be posting I can do that.
Thanks xx

I thought that 65 would be easy but I never thought that I would have to read 1.5 books a week!! It may sounds fairly easy but as I say I am a grad student who works full time, has a hubby, a 7 month old and..... There is more but it's a hush hush right now
