Am going to have to go for a while...will catch up with you all later. It's easy to stay on here all day, but I'm afraid, life (that is, children) gets in the way.
I spent far too long on here the other day and other things piled up. Spent all day yesterday doing the piled up things, and thought, 'I'll restrict myself to an hour each day...'. I'm sure you're all reading this with a knowing, 'yeah, ok, Andy' but I have to try.
Did you all go through the same thing when you first started?
There are other things? The spider colony in my living room keeps on telling me to come here. specially when they see me pick up a brush. Not that that happens much any more . . .
Hello Gingerlily,Just so you know I am not ignoring...I posted that and will come back later. Am just figuring out the best way to keep control of site use - a few -ten minute spells I'm thinking is probably best.
I am going to spend the next few months building my group here and on Twitter. Is there a quick way to add friends on here to Twitter, or does it happen anyway?

I haven't used twitter much so I'm not very up with how it works. There are a few heavy Twitterers here. if you can get hold om Anne-Mhairi Simpson she might know as she spends all day on there... I could ask her on facebook as she is on there quite a bit too.
I spend all my day at work on here... Although I did have a brief blast of my work yesterday afternoon for a change. I don't know what got into me
There is no life outside of our group, just interruptions.

Hello Mhairi,I found the way to request Twitter friends who are also on GR, but not the other way round. I think it might be a case of just asking people on here if they're on Twitter.

No, no, I'm here, I'm here *picks bits of tomato splatter off clothes*Basically, yes, you're going to have to add people individually. I went and looked at Twitter's friend-adding thingy and it looks at Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and AoL but not Goodreads, so there's no way to auto-add people, I'm afraid.

I missed you too! I missed all of you. Just find that GR is the least dippable of all the platforms, I can't just turn up and chat for a bit because all the conversations are ongoing and I find it hard to work out what's going on!
But I do miss you all and might set up a Tea and Cake thread for people who just want to pop in for a quick natter. Don't know if it would work, though.
So, how is everyone? I've been a good girl, writing, getting into gainful employment. How about you lot?

That's ok, I'm not too precious about my thread - all comments welcome. That Twitter thing...I always look at people's profile before making a friend request, and their twitter name is on there if they have one, so I go to Twitter and follow them. That seems to be the best way I've found to do it, and is....quite simple, really!
