"Death Comes To Pemberley," by P.D. James and "The Charming Quirks of Others" by Alexander McCall Smith
Follow up - June 15 - "Death Comes to Pemberley" was a major disappointment. I don't normally read modern sequels to Jane Austen books but was lured into this one because of P.D. James' reputation.
Alexander McCall Smith's book, however, was delightful.

Before that, we went through all of the George & Martha books by James Marshall. Other recent favorites have included The Mysterious Tadpole, Pig Pig Grows Up, Curious George Takes a Job, and Mary Alice Operator No. 9.
We were lucky enough to be gifted a huge collection of children's books that have been passed around our family since the time my kids' 20-something cousins were toddlers. My kids love going to our bookshelf and picking out stuff to read at night. They also get excited when I bring home new and interesting books from the library. :-)
