Name change of Author

One of my groups is reading a book that I have read, and I noticed that the author has actually changed her name and is now writing under a pen name. Both of her books are listed under both her old name and her new pen name and apparently new copies of the books are being published with the new name. Is there a way to link the two so 1) it will be easier to realize that it is the same book with a different author name, and 2)the ratings for the books are compiled so that the ratings are more accurate? Just wondering. Here are the books in question:

Pulled by Amy Lichtenhan is the same as Pulled by A.L. Jackson

And

Take This Regret by Amy Lichtenhan is the same as Take This Regret by A.L. Jackson

Policy is to set the primary author name as the name the book was initially published under and to add the new name secondary.

Since this book is in a giveaway I did not want to mess with the primary author name so I have reversed it for the time being. Once the giveaway is complete it can be swapped to match policy.

I've got one, too. I have added the synopsis; however, I'm unsure what to do about the pub date. (1993 vs. 2011).

Should I put the same synopsis under the original one, and add the author's other name (I did under the freebie one)?

I would think so, yes.

No. It wasn't available in a Kindle edition in 1993. Presumably it only became available for the Kindle in 2012, so that's the year I would put.

Do I "combine" these, if the author's name is different?

The primary author on both editions should be the name under which the book was originally published. That will allow combining.

Okay, I combined the 1993 & 1997 editions and left the 2011 alone.

Nevermind. I went in and changed the 2011 edition to the author's (original) name and added the new name as a secondary source, per Post #2, and then combined. Worked great. ☺

While that's a general guideline, we sometimes change the order for a variety of reasons. In this case, it is clear the author wants the name she currently uses first.

Any idea on how I can change the author name on my book from CJ Davis to C.J. Davis?

I want to update the book details, including uploading a cover but it will not let me, since I am "not the author" in the system.
