I love this show! I'm a huge fan of twisted fairytales. And then there's Robert Carlyle. He's giving such a great performance as Rumple! I'm also a fan of Ginnifer Goodwin. The whole cast is great actually.

I enjoy this show and Grimm. Once is an interesting take on the fairy tales I grew up on. I also love Carlyle as Rumple and Lana as the evil queen.
Love once upon a time but I have been so swamped with reviews I am behind on all my shows *sad face*Heather-

Thanks! I do live in Germany actually, my husband and I are stationed here.
I really enjoy both series, but as for Once Upon a Time - I like now that more things are coming to a head.

OH! I bet you are wondering how I can watch the show lol! Hulu works for people stationed in Germany :D and I keep track of my shows via sidereel. I am not sure but AFN also shows a lot of American shows for service members but I would rather watch it online on my own time :)

Oops -- forgot to mention it's on NBC.
I was waiting for someone to mention Once Upon a Time. It is right up there with True Blood & Vampire Diaries as one of my favorite TV shows. I just love Once Upon a Time. Which is kinda strange cause I am not a TV person. I think because they bring out all the old fairy tails. It reminds me of where Jimminy Cricket came from. There are cool sword fights, and other medievel myths like fairies, trolls, evil wizards,magic, and I really like all the characters too. Operation Cobra baby!
Me me me!!! One of my favorite shows. Been a fan since day 1. Favorite character is Rumpel/Mr.Gold & Emma.

Once Upon a Time is the only show I refuse to miss this season. I was thrilled when I heard it had gotten picked up for another season.

I already have NETFLIX streaming and Verizon Fios on-demand does air Grimm episodes too.

So it's officially renewed now? Yay! I kept checking the news for a while there and never saw anything official - but I'm sure glad, since I don't know how they would wrap everything up in the last two episodes!
I love this show too! I can't wait for the next episode, have to know what happens. I've always liked fairy tales, so that's probably why I love it so much.
Denise wrote: "Mona wrote: "Denise wrote: "Mona wrote: "Denise wrote: "Mona wrote: "I enjoy this show and Grimm. Once is an interesting take on the fairy tales I grew up on. Denise wrote: "I actually was thinking about you yesterday. Of course I forgot to watch Grimm. My memory is horrible. BUT I did sign up on Hulu and plan to do some catching up. Thanks for the reminder.":) It's really easy to forget about shows b/c there's SO MUCH great stuff to watch. Except for those people that watch and vote on reality shows, it's rare to watch TV shows when they air. Most watch via DVR, Netflix, Hulu, online, etc.
With me it's stuff to watch > time. I've got my DVR, Netflix streaming, DVD's from the library, and Verizon Fios HD package(300 + channels + South Asian channels).
Robert Carlyle is definitley one of the best characters in Once Upon a Time. He plays his part as a reluctant villian extremely well. He apears to not relish being evil. But he accepts his fate as simply unavoidable. The Queen just makes you want to throttle her. The kid Henry Mills(Jared Gilmore) is a pretty cool kid. It's one of the few TV shows I actually enjoy.
@Cary - yeah, I agree that Rumple is a way more interesting character than the queen - her backstory actually made me like her less, whereas Rumple's gives him more layers at every turn.
Retelling classic fairy tales in a modern context is a great way of getting a new modern audience to take interest in them again. The amount of tales they have to draw from is limitless. Snow White, Rumplestilskin, Hansel & Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood,Pininochio are some of the ones so far. But they could use almost any old European tale.
Here here!!! (jumping and waving). This series is awesome and I cannot wait for the final this sunday :)Claude Dancourt
Today I am going to watch the final episode! My favorites characters are Regina and Henry; both actors have born to play them.
I have just started watching the series and I love it. I have seen 4 episodes and love the cast. Just hope they get a happily ever after in the end.
My daughter and I absolutely LOVE the show! It's wonderfully written. The cast is loveable. It's much like a soap opera but even the boys like it. I can't wait for more episodes next season.
Yes it is a really fun show. I was a bit bumbed when this season came to an end because there is nothing on TV worth watching. There are some new fantasy & scify shows I am excited about. Falling Skies & Beauty and the Beast. They had a show like that in the 1980's where a lion man beast lived in an underground wonderland bellow New York & befriended a young lady. It was pretty cool. Anything to save me from reality TV.
Here! Here! (jumping and waving)I liked the show well enough. The last three episodes had touch much of "Harry Potter" in them, but it was nice nonetheless. I am curious to see what they'll do next season :)

I absolutely love this show, it's one of my favorites! And although many people didn't like the end of season 1, I thought it was amazing. September can't come soon enough!
I love a story with well written villains and the baddies of this show thrill me every single time I've watched it!
For everyone / anyone who's loving the "unpredictability" or "twistedness" to the fairy tales in OUAT, you have GOT to watch Grimm! Twenty times more unpredictable and seriously twisted origins of familiar fairy tales. I totally expected to like OUAT better because it's all light and peaches adn cream and nice, without all the evil demon stuff I hate in paranormal genre (I loathe fantasy and esp. paranormal genre) but I found that Grimm was SOOOOOO much better done in terms of story content/writing and development of the plot, the world, the characters. It's just a better show. And darker (which is surprisingly NOT repelling me from the show though)
I started another thread with this same subject to talk about Grimm, not realizing you folks were already talking about Grimm here :) Will that teach me to read before posting? Probably not. Hah!
I feel like OUAT had such great potential and just really dropped the ball. I feel like Grimm, OTOH, started slowly and just gets better each week. I love how they said at ComicCon2012 that this coming season, Nick is going to "really get his Grimm on" :) Ending the first season with his allegedly deceased mother showing up on his doorstep was a nice touch, too.

@phoenicianbooks
Ironically I really dislike Robert Carlyse as an actor, but his Rumplestilskin interpretation is quite well done. I don't agree his unwilling villian is "better" than the queen's sultry evil but they are definitely the two most interesting characters on the show. Given I watched the show in the first place primarily because it starred Ginnifer Goodwin and don't particularly care about her character at all is kind of ironic. I loved her in HOUSE; I'm surprised she is so 2-dimension in OUAT. Then again, an actor is only as good as her script and the OUAT writing quality is several levels below that of Grimm. I'm now officially spoiled in my expectations of newly-fractured fairy tales :)-Friday
@phoenicianbooks
I haven't seen Grimm, but aside from the fact that both deal with fairy tales, the two shows don't seem terribly similar (I watch several other NBC shows so have been seeing weekly ads for Grimm since last summer).
