Hyp: What do the characters look like in your head?

Funny, but for me The Poet looks like David Hewlett - Dr. Mckay from Stargate Atlantis. Always has. Even before SGA.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought of Michelle Rodriguez. I don't know how well it'll hold up when I actually get to Brawne's story (I've barely begun reading), but I thought of Rodriguez almost immediately.
Hoyt is actually the last name of one of my professors at uni, and I can't avoid picturing him in my mind's eye.
I know that Martin the Poet is not a dwarf but ever since watching the Game of Thrones TV show I can't picture him as anyone but Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) due to the similarities they have in making snarky and biting commentary.
@Tamahome: I believe in the first chapter the narrator says that Brawne could been seen as attractive...lol
I always saw Brawne as Ripley / Sigourney Weaver from the first Alien movie before she cut her hair.

I must have weird tastes then, because Rodriguez is freaking hot if you ask me.

She most certainly is:
Halsted wrote: "I keep seeing Wallace Shawn with bangs as Martin the Poet."Me too, if fatter. I also just read a Wired article about this guy, so he pops in there, too.

That is how I saw him for the flashback. In real time he looked more like the old one.
aldenoneil wrote: "Despite my best efforts, I could only picture Hoyt as this guy:I could definitely see that guy playing Hoyt.
Michelle Rodriguez would be good as Brawne.
How about Ken Watanabe as the Templar Het?
I think Liam Cunningham would be a awesome Consul. And I also see Hoyt as a former teacher of my! Kassad, to me, looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
I deliberately didn't read this thread until after I'd started forming my own impressions of the characters. There's two characters who seem to have come out as faces mentioned here. So here's my cast of charactersThe Consul - Iain Glen
Lenar Hoyt - Donny Boaz
Fedmahn Kassad - James Callis
Brawne Lamia - Michelle Rodriguez
Het Masteen - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Martin Selenus - Wallace Shawn
Sol Weintraub - Sir Ian McKellen
I first read Hyperion back in the 90s, and I've always seen Martin Silenus as Robbie Coltrane's portrayal of Falstaff in the Branagh film from '89.(Image insertion fail)
Halsted wrote: "I keep seeing Wallace Shawn with bangs as Martin the Poet."Now I'm not going to be able to finish The Fall of Hyperion without either picturing his Eureka character or Rex from Toy Story.
lol, I now see why his pic was posted in another thread. Sorry for being dense. :PI could only see Johnny as Brandon Routh. The description seemed to fit him.

Then I looked up images of Keats, and I do think there is something a little Keats like about Routh.

I always pictured Johnny as Jamie Bamber. And I imagined Siri as some sort of Helen Mirren-y looking woman.
I've thought a lot about this as I'm finishing the book for the first time. My thoughts:Father Lenar Hoyt — James Callis (his distracted, pained portrayal of Gaius Baltar reminds me a lot of Hoyt)

Father Paul Dure — Liam Neeson

Fedmahn Kassad — Naveen Andrews

Moneta — Aishwarya Rai

Martin Silenus — Tim Curry (surprised no one has suggested him yet; he's got such a satyr's personality)

Sol Weintraub — Dustin Hoffman (especially now that he's older)

Brawne Lamia — Michelle Rodriguez (badass, suspicious, no nonsense)

The Consul — Liam Cunningham (brooding, mysterious)

Het Masteen — Ken Watanabe

Theo Lane — I'll go ahead and give Bradley Cooper this role.
Well, since I've read the Cantos (all books) twice and am currently listening to them on audio book, here's my view of the cast. The Consul: Tom Hanks. I just feel he could play any roll. And his son could almost play his younger grandfather in his story of Siri.

Colonel Fedmahn Kassad: I do like the idea of Naveen Andrews playing this roll. See, he already has a gun.

Lenar Hoyt: James Franco

CEO Meina Gladstone: Jaime Lee Curtis

Brawne Lamia: Heck no not Michelle Rodriguez, here's why, "It occurred to the Consul that Brawne Lamia might well be considered beautiful." So how about some Mila Kunis?

Het Masteen: Ken Watanabe a good choice.

Martin Silenus: Wallace Shawn? Inconceivable! Actually very conceivable, he'd make a great choice.
I meant
Sol Weintraub: Sir Ian McKellen
Theo Lane: Yeah, for what little screen time he'll have, Bradley Cooper.

Father Paul Duré: This one I'm torn between Patrick Stewart or Donald Sutherland.

Sad King Billy: This one has another two candidates, George Wendt and Ian McNeice.
or
Shrike Cult Bishop: If McNeice doesn't make it as King Billy then he'd do here.

The Bikura: This guy! Just digitally impose him 70 times. j/k that turned a really bad movie into a horrible movie.
