If you like dragons, try the Dragonspell series by Donita K. Paul
If you liked Wheel of Time, try reading The Way of Kings. I've heard that they are similar, and The Way of Kings is an awesome book.
Go with the last book of Eragon first. Finish that series out.
And then, if you want a good series to read after, I suggest the Septimus Heap series. It's a pretty good read.

Even Christopher Paolini Suggests Magic Kingdom of Landover

Try percy jackson and the olypians (don't know if thats spelled right)
I love the Eragon books and the Game of Thrones books but they offer very different things. GoT isn't an easy read - we're talking 7 books all 800+ pages of small print, multiple characters on top of multiple characters, lot's of violence, pretty political, some fantasy. It's fantastic - but not for younger readers and not for part-time readers either.
The Eragon series is more for the YA market. I am reading the series along side the GoT series at the moment - this is my 'light relief' series. There are long wordy periods of not much action and lots of talking though, and Paolini feels the need to explain everything, even things which don't need explaining because they don't effect the plot. That said, I love the characters and the story, particularly lovely Saphira, and am enjoying the series (I'm nearly at the end of book 3)
So in conclusion - they are both great but it depends what you're looking for and what kind of reader you are!

Depends what you are afer. Eragon and Game of Thrones are vastly different. Eragon is a 'nice' fantasy adventure, where Game of Thrones is very gritty and quite dark.
I would personally recommend Game Of Thrones over Eragon
But it all depends on preferences , game of thrones series is less fantasy and more political drama with plots and intrigues among the many main characters being the focal point of the series. It is incredibly well written and HBO even made a television series out of it. You can check it out if you want to test the series, it is well filmed.
Eragon is more fantasy action genre which starts off pretty good but gets pretty boring later on.The plot line gets pretty weak as the series progress (the last book was quiet a disappointment)
It also depends on your age, Game Of Thrones is not something i would recommend to teens

Game of Thrones is supposed to be very, very good. I'd highly recommend it.

The only series I like out of those is Eragon so I'd choose that
