M Miller (jadeam) | 2 comments I am working on editing two authors' bios (Joe Payne & William R. Dorn), both co-authors of "Managing Indirect Spend: Enhancing Profitability Through Strategic Sourcing." They both use the same Twitter account and blog link. Due to restrictions on the site, I can't duplicate the info for both of their bios. Is there an overide option?

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Nope there is no over ride function

You could add to one in the official fields then use hyperlinks in the author profile description for the other. There are problems with hyperlinks at the moment but once fixed they should work fine as they did before.

Edit: and you need to make sure that the copyright for use of photo's is correct.

Some blogs have both an RSS feed and an Atom feed. If that is the case for this one, one author can have one feed and one the other, without tripping the no-duplicate rule.

No way to do it with Twitter, though.

Lori Henrich | 4 comments I have a question. If you look up a book called The Last Page two show up both authors are Libby Fischer Hellmann. One author link goods to the goodreads author page. The other goes to another link. I tried to link them but could not. There is also a Libby Hellmann site that should be with the others. Because the author set up her own page it isn't letting me merge anything. Can someone fix this. I have tried and it doesn't seem to be working.

M Miller (jadeam) | 2 comments Thanks Paula and Rivka. How do I site a copyright for a photo properly?

Lori, I've started a new thread for this issue:

First you need to check that you are allowed to use the image here -- some authors will put up pictures specifically for promotional use, for example, or there may be a picture which has been released for general use. If you can't find something giving permissions for the use of the image, it can't be used.

Once you find the permission, you fill out the "copyright information" field on the right-hand side of the author bio with a link to the webpage which is hosting the allowed image and a statement of the permission to use the image.
