Kimberly Maw (movementpoem) | 1 comments Hello! My name is Kimberly. I am a 38 yr old momma, wife, and all that goes along with that. I am so happy to have found this group! I think it is wonderful that you respond to each post Meryl! You are very sweet and thoughtful. I have been reading some of the posts and have been impressed with the positive messages here. I have practiced yoga, mostly on my own for about 20 years. I try to go to a studio or workshop when I can, but $ is always tight. I miss the community and friendship of others who love yoga though! Can't wait to get to know you all better.
Are you currently planning a group book to read in May?
Namaste,
Kimberly

Hi Kimberly:

Welcome to the group!

Our next group book won't be until June. In the spirit of the summer, we'll be reading some light fiction: Head Over Heels: A Novel. (As you can see, we try to mix fun reads with more serious yoga books, and fiction with nonfiction.)

This is the second in a series about five women who connect via a yoga studio in L.A. I read the first book, Tales from the Yoga Studio, and liked it a lot. I've heard you don't have to read the first to understand the second (and, in any good series, you shouldn't), so you're welcome to use May to read the first book or just jump into the second one in June.

I usually give members until about the 5th or 6th of the month to start reading, then I post prompts for the first part of the book. As the month progresses prompts are posted for additional chapters. We usually break the book into 3 or 4, but if it's a light, fast read, maybe 2 parts will be enough. We'll see.

In July, if there's enough interest, we'll read Radio Shangri-La, a memoir.

Hope you can join our discussion!!
Meryl Davids Landau
