I loved "When Beauty Tamed the Beast" in print and audio. I read somewhere that this book was a departure for her, that her writing was very different from all of her other books. Her books always seemed rather wordy to me so I never wanted to try any. I have a bunch of hers on my audible wish list but have been hesitating to get any more. I will be anxious to hear what others have to say, especially about her other books narrated by Susan Duerden.
Lea it was your review for the column that caused me to listen to James' When Beauty Tamed the Beast. I really liked it, but A Kiss at Midnight was one of my all-time favorites. It was madly in love with the ending. In the last 4-5 months, Sinful by Charlotte Featherstone is the only historical I enjoyed quite as much. Also I didnt finish The Duke is Mine. But I liked what I read of it- 60%. It's on my to-finish shelf.
I haven't read her books in print. I am a very big fan of Susan Deurdan.
Ive gotten the opinion a lot of historical romance fans arent wild about her, but I've seriously enjoyed what I've read/listened to so far.
I have two of the Duchess books. I will listen soon and leave my feedback.

She now has 15 audio titles. I was excited about that selection after listening to When Beauty Tamed the Beast but now I'm wondering...
