Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It's funny because writing is the easy part. I just sit down at the computer and the story flows out. It's every single damn step after that which scares me.

Angie wrote: "Snakes. Throw me in a tub of spiders and I'm fine, but if there's one snake within a hundred feet of me, I'm done for."

I could handle the snakes but spiders freak me the hell out.

Swarms of ants are probably one of the scariest things ever. I woke up as a teenager to thousands of ants crawling all over me, so it's a recurring nightmare of mine.

Annette My secret talent is _____________.

message 312: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) grammar. I usually don't correct people, but they can drive me nuts.

message 313: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Haha, I'm horrible at grammar! I swear it is its own language!
But strangely enough, I do seem to have a talent for linguisitics. Specifically phonetics and pronunciation. It grates on my nerves when I hear words, names and places, mispronounced!
I learned about speech pathology too late in life or I would have pursued it as a career!

message 314: by Annette (new)

Annette My secret "talent" is that I can speak like Elmo. I can sing the Elmo's World song and carry a conversation in the little monster's voice.

message 315: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Marscapone (veronicamarscapone) | 5 comments Hmm... My secret talent is my amazing ability to empathize. I realized when I was in my early teens how very easy it was for me to put myself in another person's shoes, see things from their perspective, and understand how and why they feel the way they feel. It can be a heavy weight sometimes, but I've learned not to let things that I can't control depress me.

message 316: by Leea (new)

Leea Veronica, I have the same ability. I passed it down to my son and he's super sensitive to anyone being hurt or upset.

Annette I can't believe I forgot to mail my Christmas cards.

message 319: by Ladyhawk (last edited Dec 17, 2012 09:21PM) (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments You forgot to mail your completed and ready to mail cards? Or just forgot to get them together at all??
I took a break from the Christmas cards because they really were getting out of control. But they are so nice to receive I should make the effort again.
I don't think its too late to mail them Annette.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I forgot to do my cards at all this year. Usually, we take the boys outdoors and get a nice scenery shot and then make the holiday cards at the kiosk at walmart (they end up looking as nice as the expensive studio ones). But time got behind us this year and by now it would be too late to do it and get them all mailed.

message 321: by Leea (new)

Leea I have noticed not many people are sending out cards this year... No worries ladies, there is always next year :)

I forget a lot, so the list is long. haha! Mainly it's things like bread, milk or my kids lunch, turning in paperwork for him to do the extra math class... blah blah! Haha!

message 322: by Annette (new)

Annette I had them all ready with stamps and I forget to take them with me when I leave the house. But I finally mailed them out.

I try not to be to militant about greeting card, but my policy is: If I don't get one from you, you don't get one from me:)

message 323: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Annette, it's a good thing my friends have not adopted that philosophy or I wouldn't get any Christmas cards! LOL
Lately my life has been 'out of sight out of mind!!' I can't plan anything worth a darn!

I mailed out about 25 card and only got about 15. I know some people run out of time to send cards, so some years you get a card from them and some years you don't. Then you have the people that never send cards and I wonder how they got in my list. This year they didn't get a card from me either.

Ladyhawk | 381 comments What as seen on TV products are you guilty of buying and did they live up to the hype?
Been seeing that green covered self rolling garden hose. Wouldn't that cover get dirt pretty quick?

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I have never bought an As Seen on TV product, but there have been plenty I've wanted to try! Luckily my husband is really good at talking sense to me. :)
