Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments Since we have a new 'Just Finished Now Reading' thread it seemed appropriate to start a new 'Library Saturday' thread too.
I made an audio exchange today, two not yet listened to were reluctantly returned and one came home with me along with selected poems by Muriel Rukeyser, Out of Silence: Selected Poems. The poetry is intriguing and I will be eager to get to Defending Jacob on audio after The Drop. Cat's Claw also went back unfinished. I was just not eager enough to keep going after chapter one. That was disappointing.
I hated to return Stay Close and Elegy for Eddie, though have plans to get back to both soon, especially the Maisie Dobbs installment, eagerly anticipated.

Shomeret | 1490 comments Today I picked up Range of Ghosts, a fantasy novel by Elizabeth Bear at the library.

Re returning unfinished--On Tuesday I'm going to my neighboring city's main library and returning three books unfinished, but they are all non-fiction. Non-fiction books are slower reads and I didn't think I'd have time for them.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments Shomeret: I am with you, I rarely have enough time for non fiction books to be finished in the time window from the library. I try them all the time though and the ones I like are on my list to scout for used copies to savor at my own pace.

I often skim parts of non-fiction books without feeling that I'm losing the point and still enjoy the read.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments Dan: I do that too, and just like reading out of order, with no guilt at all. the ones where I think I may be missing something I try to either get again from the library or scout for a copy. Most of the ones I would do that for are not on Kindle so I look for used copies.
