Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments My favorite cartoon as a kid was…

1. The episode of Tom & Jerry where Tom was treated like a baby and laughed at by other cats.
2. The episode of Merry Melodies where the Abominable Snowman adopts Daffy and Bugs and calls them George.
3. The episode of Merry Melodies where the baby buzzard goes hunting for Bugs Bunny and says, “Oh, no, no, no, no, no!” a lot.

Edward Davies | 1727 comments I'm not a fan of football either, and my guess is the lie is number 1. I don't see you liking a cartoon where someone is made fun of. :D

message 1553: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Ding, ding, ding! You got it, Edward! That first cartoon was infuriating for me even though Tom is normally painted as the bad guy.

message 1554: by Edward (new)

Edward Davies | 1727 comments Did I get the reason correct too? Awesome!

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Your turn, Eddy-Boy! :)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments I meant to say this earlier. I agree with Garrison. You can post next if you want!

message 1557: by Edward (new)

Edward Davies | 1727 comments Oh, I'm no good at these. Hmm, let's see...

This year I have introduced my son to the following 80s cartoons:-

a) Duck Tales
b) ThunderCats
c) The Real Ghostbusters

message 1558: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments The lie is Duck Tales.

message 1559: by Edward (new)

Edward Davies | 1727 comments Wrong, guess again G-Man!

message 1560: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments The Real Ghostbusters?

message 1561: by Edward (last edited Aug 31, 2017 10:10PM) (new)

Edward Davies | 1727 comments Wow, do I give you one more guess at what the lie is? Or have I won?

Okay, so The Real Ghostbusters was the one I really wanted the boy to watch, and he likes it. Currently he loooooves Duck Tales (the old one, we haven't tried the new one yet),but ThunderCats is one I'm saving for when he's a bit older.

message 1562: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments You got me, Edward. You got me good! I know Thundercats has animated violence, so your little guy might not be old enough for it yet. At least I think that's the reasoning behind it. I'm not sure. Anyways, congratulations! You get a cookie! :)

message 1563: by Edward (new)

Edward Davies | 1727 comments Hooray! No, the reason I'm not showing him it is because he watches too many shows as it is! :D He kept wanting to watch old Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoons from the bonus features on our Disney movies, so to make life easier I fished out Duck Tales!

message 1564: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Ducky-Pies jumping into a pool of gold coins. ^_^

message 1565: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Yay, Edward posted one. And it really was a good one too!

message 1566: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Okay I almost posted one I was gonna regret (don't ask, it's embarrassing, lol!) so here's a different one.

Again if you've seen my first posts on this thread I unintentionally kept putting answers that were violent. Well... not that way but injuries that happened to me. Here goes!

These are real injuries I've had:

1. Having a pained knee where they thought I tore my meniscus!
2. Twisting my shoulder while falling down the stairs.
3. After many falls while ice skating having an injury in my side that was leaking.

message 1567: by Garrison (last edited Sep 02, 2017 11:19PM) (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments I'd say number three is the lie. Unless you fell on something sharp, you wouldn't be bleeding that badly.

message 1568: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Sorry. It is always an unintentional tradition that when I post here I forget to respond back. I'm bad at this game, lol.

Nope. The answer was 2 this time!

Not to get into too much detail let's just say that there was something leaking out of my side. The person who examined me at the doctor's office claimed that something sharp must have pierced my side and was pulled out though I don't remember anything of that happening. It was crazy because it sort of made sense; it turned out that ice rink was kind of a dangerous place because it was reputed some time after that of having gang activity.

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Strangely I've fallen down the stairs but was completely unharmed by the incident.

message 1570: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Owie, owie, owie, owie! That sounds like the topic for a Poison Tongue Tales story! ;)

message 1571: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Yeah it was gross and crazy but it somehow didn't hurt. I was glad to go to see the doc about it though!

message 1572: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments You're a tough cookie, CJ. You really are. :)

message 1573: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments I don't know about that. If the wound hurt I would have been whining nonstop about it, lol!

message 1574: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments I once screamed like I was being gutted alive because I banged my elbow on the wall. You've got me beat in the toughness department, CJ. Hehe!

message 1575: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments I've whined endlessly while having a headache. I surely am not tough, Garrison. :)

message 1576: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments We'll call it a draw. :)

message 1577: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments When it comes to listening to scary videogame music, I’ll still listen to the following despite being creeped out by them:

1. Demon’s Lair Theme from Breath of Fire
2. Dancing Calcobrena Theme from Final Fantasy IV
3. Neo Geegus Theme from World Heroes 2

Yes, I’m a wuss. Hehe!

message 1578: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Hmm... I wish I knew the tunes (though I have heard of at least 2 of the games!).

So I will guess 2?

message 1579: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Ding, ding, ding! You got it, CJ! Of the three songs, that one creeps me out the most. These songs are on You Tube if you want to look them up.

message 1580: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments And now that we're talking about fears I just thought about one involving childhood memories.

These movies for one small reason or another scared me as a kid:

1. Batman Returns
2. Dennis the Menace
3. A Christmas Story

message 1581: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Dennis the Menace is the lie. Other than Switchblade Sam, there's not a whole lot scary about it.

message 1582: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Sep 07, 2017 08:41PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Nope. I found that guy scary but what almost traumatized me the most was the post-credits scene. I thought Dennis had shoved the woman's face into that Xerox machine and it seemed like it was hurting her. Then the scene ended making me feel like "Was she okay? She never got out though..." 0_0 I was a delicate child lol!

The answer was 1, Batman Returns. To this day I'll never understand how such a dark storyline in a film hadn't bothered me in a significant way.

message 1583: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Was Batman Returns the one where The Penguin was the lead villain? If so, then what disturbs me the most is how those cute little penguin-pies could ever blindly follow a monster like him.

message 1584: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Garrison wrote: "Was Batman Returns the one where The Penguin was the lead villain? If so, then what disturbs me the most is how those cute little penguin-pies could ever blindly follow a monster like him."

Yep, you've got it! The craziest thing I thought about the movie was just how they were so good at making the viewer pity the Penguin while hating just how dastardly his plans were at the same time. That takes some skill and Burton was great at taking the challenge in that aspect!

message 1585: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments You should write a review for it, CJ. I'd love to read it! :)

message 1586: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Okay. And plus I have the Burton/Schumacher movie collection around so it will be worth a re-watch to later type out a review. Thanks for the suggestion Garrison!

message 1587: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments That's what I'm here for. :)

message 1588: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments One of my least favorite chores to do around the house is...

1. Laundry
2. Washing Dishes
3. Mopping Up Dog Waste

message 1589: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments Hi Garrison! Hope you're well!

It's gotta be 3, the dog poop ....surely?

message 1590: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Hi there, Nicky-Pie! It's good to see you again! The lie is number one. Laundry is relatively easy to do while washing dishes hurts my lower back for some reason and mopping up dog crap...well...that's never fun to begin with. Hehe!

message 1591: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Of the three concerts I went to in August, my favorite opening acts from those shows were…

1. Catfish and the Bottlemen (opened for Green Day)
2. Avenged Sevenfold (opened for Metallica)
3. Jimmy Eat World (opened for Incubus)

message 1592: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Hmm, I just have a feeling (but could be wrong of course!) number 3 is the lie...?

message 1593: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Bzzt! Number one is the lie. I didn't make it to the Green Day concert on time to see Catfish and the Bottlemen, so I can't form an opinion of someone whose music I've never heard. It was a trick question, I admit. Hehe!

message 1594: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments One more of these and I swear I'll let someone else have a turn.

A television logo I used to be afraid of as a kid was…

1. Merv Griffin Enterprises (Church Glass Variation) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb-nW...
2. Gracie Films (Screaming Halloween Variation) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZX1z...
3. Screen Gems (“S from Hell” Variation) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz2ib...

The second one??

message 1596: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Bzzt! The lie was number three, the Screen Gems "S from Hell" logo. It's actually pretty mild and I could never wrap my head around why so many logo enthusiasts found it scary as children.

That's very interesting!!
Mine is... hm...
1. A few years ago i almost died unknowingly 10 times in the span of 3 months
2. The only fruit i eat is kiwifruit and only vegetable i eat is corn
3. I once collected and donated over 200 toys to children in the hospital at Christmas time

message 1598: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Hmm....I'm going to guess...number two is the lie!
