Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments This is turning to an episode of The Dating Game, except with...interesting people. Hehe!

Number one is the lie?

message 1202: by [deleted user] (new)

2?

message 1203: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Haha, gold! I'll guess 3...

message 1204: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments Yep, Ryan is right number 3 is the lie - how did you guess?

His band was called Lawnmower Death and I can't remember his name now. They were quite good and did do a really good Thrash version of Message in Bottle that was great fun.
In may not sound it from my descriptions but they were all very sweet really but the answer to all 3 was a no!

message 1205: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay so today I've heard these bands...
1. Deaf Leopard
2.One Direction
3. Demi Lavato

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments I'm going to say Number 1, December!

message 1207: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to say no,CJ!
(Sorry, I couldn't resist.))

message 1208: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Hehe.

message 1209: by [deleted user] (new)

I have no idea what 2 songs I heard, but they were on the radio when I spent 5 hours clening.

message 1210: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Okay could I guess again?

message 1211: by [deleted user] (new)

Yea

message 1212: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Number two?

message 1213: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I listened to a cover of little things, but only because I like that YouTube guy, also my picture in my status is Only there because it's really funny. I love Demi Lavato though

message 1214: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments I guess I will go next, this one happens to be in a theme of "twos:"

1. Since Middle School I have played in two rock bands though one has yet to have a gig.
2. I have broken both of my wrists, each accident a year apart from the other strangely.
3. I have one (but possibly two) birthmarks... one I'd have to be bald to see.

message 1215: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments The first one?

message 1216: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Number two?

message 1217: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments Well I'll go 3 then!

message 1218: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Sorry I took too long and forgot I posted.

The answer is Number 1! Have only been in one band (that has yet to play a gig, ahem). :)

message 1219: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Rock on, CJ!

In the highly unlikely event that I have a son, I’d want his name to be…

1. John David
2. Mario Connor
3. Colin Evan

message 1220: by Nicky (new)

Oh CJ - that's tragic - you have to get at least 1 gig at some point. Even if you're just in your band for fun. Couldn't you even just volunteer for someone's family gathering etc then you could feel you've ticked that box.
I've worked with so many bands but would always have loved to have been in one, what type of music do you do - if that's not too nosey?!

Garrison, hmm, tricky...

John David is a nice solid sort of a name, but then there's the Games connection for Mario so as a complete stab in the dark I'll say Number 3 is the lie!

(On a cautionary note - don't get too attached to the name - they sometimes pop out and you think, d'you know what you just aren't a 'Steven' and then you have to start all over again!)

We are kind of a mix of different kinds. I guess we're mostly alternative rock. And we've played at one place... for free though. Yeah I know, sad. :D Soon there will hopefully be something though.

message 1223: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Hmm... Number 2, Garrison?

message 1224: by [deleted user] (new)

2?

message 1225: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Bzzt! The lie was John David. Yes, it's a solid name, but John and David are so common they've become cliche after a while. I will say this, though: if I had a choice between John David and Pilot Inspektor, I will choose John David every single time. Sometimes, celebrity baby names make me cringe.

message 1226: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments Yeah I was actually trying to see if there was one name mentioned that was like a pun (like that celebrity naming their child thing you spoke about) and thought my theory would work. "Marry O'Connor." My idea failed. lol.

message 1227: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments I can see how that can be amusing. Hehe! But the main reason I would opt for Mario Connor is because I'm Irish and Italian on my father's side. Then again, I'm English and French on my mother's side, so I could have a son named Henry Pierre. Hey, that actually works! Hehe!

message 1228: by [deleted user] (new)

A medical two truths and one lie. Let's go!

1) I am currently in remission for arthritis.
2) I had a hole in my heart when I was a baby and I had to get surgery.
3) I am a type one diabetic and am dependent on my insulin shots.

message 1229: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments You're a little young for arthritis, so I'd say the first one is a lie.

message 1230: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Garrison guessed 1, so I’ll guess 3. You could have an insulin pump.

message 1231: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments well only one left, so I might as well say number 2?

message 1232: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments While we're awaiting the answer to Sophie's, I thought I'd take another turn.

Whenever I want to express to someone that I won’t change who I am for them, I like to say…

1. I am an individual!
2. It’s a free country!
3. I won’t conform to your system!

message 1233: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments I think 1 is the lie?

message 1234: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Ding, ding, ding! You got it, Ryan! I used to say it when I was a teenager, but I don't say it much anymore. I say the other two quite a bit, though. Then again, my only opportunity to say them comes when I fart or burp in public or dress in sweat pants and a Hawaiian shirt. Hehe!

message 1235: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments I reckon - number 3!

message 1236: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments It reminds me of a terrible (but hilarious) film clip from the 80's - 'I'm an Individual' by Mark 'Jacko' Jackson.

message 1237: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Ryan, I just looked it up on You Tube. It's definitely one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. Hehe!

message 1238: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Haha, how bad is that?! What's even scarier is that it made it to number 1 on the Aussie singles charts...Aussie music was in a bad place for a lot of the 80's. Jacko was an Australian Rules Football player, who turned to boxing and then singing and acting...I think perhaps he should have stuck with footy!

message 1239: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments That's almost as bad as "Macho Man" Randy Savage putting out a rap album. Or worse, a Real Housewives castmate putting out an auto-tuned pop album. Ugh!

message 1240: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments My favorite classic rock band growing up was…

1. Lynyrd Skynyrd
2. The Police
3. Pink Floyd

message 1241: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments Hmm,
I know you like police - (although I might have edged them nearer the Punk genre than the classic rock direction.)
Pink Floyd I'd have guessed you've have enjoyed so I think I'll say..
Number 1 is the lie - you weren't into Lynyrd Skynyrd

message 1242: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Ding, ding, ding! You got it, Nicky! :)

message 1243: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments A- ha!
Well following on from that ...

1) My favourite Police track is probably Message in a Bottle
2) My Favourite Skynyrd track is Free Bird
3) My Favourite Pink Floyd track is Brick in the Wall

message 1244: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments Number two?

message 1245: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments Nope, call me an old romantic but I love that song!

message 1246: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10110 comments I'll just wrap a blindfold around my eyes and throw a dart at...number three?

message 1247: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4470 comments I think I'd say number three as well.

message 1248: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Number 1 - 'Every Breath You Take' is your fave...

message 1249: by [deleted user] (new)

No. 1?

message 1250: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (soundgirl) | 1388 comments Garrison & CJ are correct! The Wall is not really one of my favourite Pink Floyd tracks - although I suspect it may have been the one that made me find out more about them - my favourite track is Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Every breath you take was a good guess I do love it but it's not my fav,I think it might be my 3rd fav Police track though.
