Uhm... weird is something that is not mediocre and not common or fully accepted as normal by most people.

Like me, I am a weird/bizarre author because i love writing about taboo topics like necrophilia, cannibalism, orgies, etc... =P

In terms of a genre label, "Weird" has had a specific meaning for some time.

A new genre is developing that takes many aspects from that, but also blends in classic horror, science fiction, fantasy, and literature elements.

Those topics you mention you could write about in a scholarly way, as straight fiction, thriller, horror, etc. For your work to be labeled "weird", it would need elements of mythos, fantasy,and/or horror blended in.
