Juliette | 3 comments Hey!
Juliette here. My first McCammon book was Swan Song, I read it back in....1996 (?), somewhere in the late 90's. It's got a special place in my heart since I found myself discussing it at a bar one evening with a good friend of mine who later became my husband. I was just thrilled that someone else had read it and loved it. We share a love of McCammon, King, Koontz, and Laymon.

Thanks, Lou. I'm glad the book reached you fine. :)

Cobwebs-Iced-Across-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Long-term McCammon fan here; if I had to choose, my favourites would be Usher's Passing and Swan Song and Mystery Walk; plus I'm terribly crazy about his Matthew Corbett series.

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 101 comments Hi All - I'm Joanne and I've been a long time fan of Robert McCammon. I think my first was Bethany's Sin. I picked it up someplace second hand and I was hooked. I still have all my beat up paperbacks, a few hardcovers and now ebooks. I just recently reread Wolf's Hour and found it to be just as good as the first second and third time that I read it over the years. I'm looking to forward to getting back to all of them again ... thanks for letting me in

Hi. I'm Hunter Goatley. I run Robert McCammon's website and his Facebook page. I've been a McCammon fan since I bought and read THEY THIRST back in 1981. That original Avon cover with the garish face screamed, "READ ME!", and I did, and to date, it remains the only book I've ever read that spawned a nightmare for me.

In 1989, I started LIGHTS OUT!---THE ROBERT R. MCCAMMON NEWSLETTER. I published six issues of that over two years. When the web came around, I created a McCammon website that lasted until 1999. When SPEAKS THE NIGHTBIRD was published in 2002, I resurrected the McCammon website, and we've been going strong ever since. 8-)

Nice to see so many people new to McCammon. You have a lot of great reading ahead of you!

Hunter

Welcome to this group. The group is really proving to be a worthwhile idea. I felt that many readers connected well with Robert McCammons writing over the years and really have fond memories of their reading experiences and that was one of the reasons for this.
He has succesfully connected to his readers where many writers have failed and many readers have learned and taken away something different from his writing.  I could say the same for Ray Bradbury and not stop there many other writers. I have included Ray Bardbury in the monthly polls for three reasons
1) Robert McCammon talks of him highly and many writers including Joe Lansdale.
2) Those fast readers who finish early the Robert McCammon read of the month and have discussed it and want more.
3) Something Wicked This Way Comes by Brabury is treasured and ranked high up the pile of many readers alongside Boy's Life by Robert McCammon.

It's a great joy to see so many like minded people who all seem to share a common thread of joy and passion for the written word and the McCammon experience.
With his recent novel The Five he has created a magical peace of writing as he says in his video profile he's digging deep and there's a lot more to the stories. Themes of Love, loss, redemption, atonement, joy and pain. The forthcoming years really look to offer even more great works from him.

message 43: by Mark (new)

Mark Turner Hi everyone, Mark from London here. I've been reading Robert's books on and off since the late 80's when I read Swan Song, it was one of the books that started off my love of reading along with the work of Dean Koontz. I loved reading the 3 Matthew Corbett books and can't wait to read The Providence Rider.
