My friend is reading book 2, crossed, and she said it was terribly boring. I thought the first book was bad enough, if book 2 is worse, is it worth reading? I like the series enough to continue reading, but not enough to actually care.

Patricia I agree with your friend, the second book wasn't as good as the first. If you weren't crazy about the first one, I wouldn't bother with the second ones.

Okay, thanks! I have a ton of books to read anyway, why is it that EVERY SERIES EVER has a book coming out in spring? It's so annoying because for the rest of the year nothing comes out, except like 2 books in the fall

Erica yes it's really good and

spoil alert

with indie now she might be with Xander.
sad I know.

Indie? What, is there something I'm missing or something?

Whitney Don't bother, it just gets worse.

Tina J I really enjoyed 'Matched'......but 'Crossed' is a bit DULL to say the least.
I kinda struggled through it.
Nothing really happens in the 2nd book.

I hope the 3rd book will be better, otherwise this trilogy is a lost cause!

btw - Indie is a new female character in 'Crossed'.

Gouri Krishna I really enjoyed the 1st book and ive been searching for the 2nd. Anyone know where i can find a pdf copy? Or will it be too boring for me to read? And will you give me reason why it is boring compared to 1st book?

Okay, good, I thought there was something I didn't know or something, and no, I dont have a pdf copy, or where you can get one

Webiny My friend, I'd say don't touch Crossed with a ten foot rod. Personally, I barely stomached Matched, (so much potential, so little exciting execution!). I was terribly disappointed with Crossed. Mind you, I labored through it only because I had an interest in finding out the little cryptic clues that Condie dropped here and there. In the end there was virtually zero plot building, zero character development, zero excitement. So I'd say if you want to catch the highlights, just read the Wikipedia page.

Gouri Krishna You did not like matched, right? But i did. SO should i read crossed.and where will i get pdf copy?

Melody I thought Matched was ok but it was a little slow. Should I read the 2nd one?

Chestina The second one is much worse. It's VERY slow and just drags out. I really hope the 3rd book will be redeeming. If not this whole series is just pitiful.

chinami book 2 was so boring i just gave up somewhere in the middle.

Totally agree!

Oh, I liked Matched all right. It wasn't AMAZING or anything but it was tolerable. But Crossed was MUCH slower, and felt like a total waste afterwards.

Gouri Krishna Thanks Webiny!

Melody is there a rebellion?

It was boring compared to Matched because Matched at least had a moving plot line that had secrets to uncover and character conflict in romance and yadda yadda yah (you get the point if you already read Matched). Crossed on the other hand was her searching for him the entire time, I didn't really like the split passages (although they were VERY necessary), most of it is about walking and wishing to see the other again, they finally do see eachother (come on you saw that coming) and then bam! they separate again. So it felt like a sparknotes summary page would have sufficed for reading to find out plot line. However, Ally Condie did set it up so that the third book *should* be more enticing. It hits at a promised rebellion and infilltrating the enemy base which should be interesting. Then again I thought how she left off the first book left for an interesting second so what do I know. I do want to say though that I heavily enjoyed the first book but if you didn't I don't know if the third is for you. My suggestion, wait for it to come out and rent it from the library or something and if you truely can't get through it then thats okay! There are plenty of other dystopian books out there, especially in teenlit(Divergent, Legend, Touch of Power, Hunger Games, etc) Don't force yourself to read it if you really don't want to. As for me: I'm sticking with it, I see potential for this series!

Thanks Tara.

Angela Davis YES read it its good

Catherine I personally didn't like the 1st book and didn't bother to finish it. I guess it depends on your own personal opinion of the series.

Cheyenne I agree with most of these comments. The second book was just... I dunno something was just off.

when i bought 'Matched' i read it in one whole day! (not boasting, the truth) i was soo tired afterwards, but it was worth it! i agree that even though the 2nd book was off, the 3rd should pull it altogether

Ally, any spoilers????

Shoot.for.the.stars I definitely like Matched a LOT better than Crossed. Crossed I had to struggle to finish, but you should read book 2 so you know how the series ends! Hopefully Reached will be worth it.

the second one was kind of confusing, but if you really like the first one, then i say go for it. This series is very similar to hunger games and the ugly series, so if youve read those and didnt like them then i would say to give up on the books.

Beth ~Mrs.SheldonCooper~ i kind of liked the second one. i just didn't like the fact that it was in Ky's and Cassia's point of view. i don't like when they do that.

Cassandra I recently finished matched but it was very dull/slow... Boring.. Kinda disappointed actually.

Karlie When i finished book one i was so in love with it that i had to read book 2. It was not as up beat as book one but you get more in depth with the story if you do.

Annie Well, personally, I liked the second one better thatn the first one. There is more going on and you get to read from kys point of veiw too.

Annie Although, ussually when I read a book, I fonish it within 24 hours, so I maynot be the best person to ask if you want to know if its slow or not.

Michelle Just finished Matched. I thought it was dull at some points in the book and quite slow. I'm kind of unsure if I should read Crossed.

Courtney Read it! These books were amazing and I can not wait to read the third!
