My friend is reading book 2, crossed, and she said it was terribly boring. I thought the first book was bad enough, if book 2 is worse, is it worth reading? I like the series enough to continue reading, but not enough to actually care.

Okay, thanks! I have a ton of books to read anyway, why is it that EVERY SERIES EVER has a book coming out in spring? It's so annoying because for the rest of the year nothing comes out, except like 2 books in the fall
Indie? What, is there something I'm missing or something?

I kinda struggled through it.
Nothing really happens in the 2nd book.
I hope the 3rd book will be better, otherwise this trilogy is a lost cause!
btw - Indie is a new female character in 'Crossed'.

Okay, good, I thought there was something I didn't know or something, and no, I dont have a pdf copy, or where you can get one

Totally agree!

Oh, I liked Matched all right. It wasn't AMAZING or anything but it was tolerable. But Crossed was MUCH slower, and felt like a total waste afterwards.

It was boring compared to Matched because Matched at least had a moving plot line that had secrets to uncover and character conflict in romance and yadda yadda yah (you get the point if you already read Matched). Crossed on the other hand was her searching for him the entire time, I didn't really like the split passages (although they were VERY necessary), most of it is about walking and wishing to see the other again, they finally do see eachother (come on you saw that coming) and then bam! they separate again. So it felt like a sparknotes summary page would have sufficed for reading to find out plot line. However, Ally Condie did set it up so that the third book *should* be more enticing. It hits at a promised rebellion and infilltrating the enemy base which should be interesting. Then again I thought how she left off the first book left for an interesting second so what do I know. I do want to say though that I heavily enjoyed the first book but if you didn't I don't know if the third is for you. My suggestion, wait for it to come out and rent it from the library or something and if you truely can't get through it then thats okay! There are plenty of other dystopian books out there, especially in teenlit(Divergent, Legend, Touch of Power, Hunger Games, etc) Don't force yourself to read it if you really don't want to. As for me: I'm sticking with it, I see potential for this series!

Thanks Tara.

when i bought 'Matched' i read it in one whole day! (not boasting, the truth) i was soo tired afterwards, but it was worth it! i agree that even though the 2nd book was off, the 3rd should pull it altogether
Ally, any spoilers????

the second one was kind of confusing, but if you really like the first one, then i say go for it. This series is very similar to hunger games and the ugly series, so if youve read those and didnt like them then i would say to give up on the books.
