likely will be getting it, but i know its not set in the potter world - its supposed to be completely different
I mean no disrespect and I will be reserving a copy day one. However, The first thing I thought of when I read the description was the movie "Hot Fuzz." I loved that movie though so maybe that type of theme is just British humor.

I'll get it if it's an ebook, as that's really all I read these days. Otherwise, no.
No it has nothing to do with Harry Potter. it's not even a fantasy novel, it sounds pretty boring to me, but that's probably because I'm a child.
I heard about this on NPR, and it got my curiousity. will definitely get it. Harry was always heading towards adulthood, anyway--my daughter was in first or second grade when my mother brought us "The Philosopher's Stone" from England---yes, we had the English copy, not the American "Sorcerer's Stone"---( god forbid, American's getting scared off by the deepness of PHILOSOPHY ) my mother has a weirdly prescient history with British invasions--she brought home a British version of an album called "Introducing the Beatles" (not the ubiquitious "Meet the Beatles" mind you):circa 1964-5? I was too young to make a distinction but President Kennedy had just been shot, and apparently a lot of Little British girls mistook my mother for Jaqui Kennedy for her little brown flip hairdo and A-line dresses, mistaking a midwest for a Bryn Mawr accent..
It sounds totally boring, but I intend to read it.
Don't know if it will be interesting, but it's written by JK Rowling so I'll give it a try.

Yeah, being honest I gotta say the storyline doesn't interest me in the slightest. But I'm nothing if not loyal to authors I like so I'll definitely check it out, I'll just probably buy it and then procrastinate for a year before I get to it.
