The first was The Tortured Rake, followed by The Shameless Playboy. Next up is The Restless Billionaire.
So glad these are on my kindle and not in my cart at WalMart.
These look good Tammy..since your in Canada too,did you see them in Walmart? I comb that section every week and I havent seen these. How many are in the series?
I just checked Kobo, they dont have and neither does amazon.ca I see they are UK books so I guess they can only be had on kindle?

The titles are AWFUL, but I'm beginning to think they're so bad they're good.
Ah-Ha! That's why..I clicked on the "original" covers and I can get them at amazon in those covers..but I like the UK covers better totally hotter. :)
I'm on an oldbie bodice ripper expedition. I went on an ebook frenzy, I'm still mindless from that excursion and sleeplessness. lol
I'm nearly done Wideacre and, boy, does this book give some of the most raw bodice rippers a run for their money. I love it. :D
Karla, should we recommend it for the upcoming Group Read? =D I completely rely on most of your reviews for my next reading project. lol

So I take it the "incest" didnt bother you..silly me of course not:D

Lol, I read Flowers in the Attic when I was about nine years old, then The Voice of the Night at 12. Yep, I can see how my literature preferences were honed. lol
Oooh, I dunno....I think it's more of a trashy soap opera than a BR. But if one is unshockable, I do recommend they read it. :D

Silly you. :D I loathe Beatrice, but she's utterly fascinating.

I loathe certain "elements" in her books, but something draws me in to read her stuff..the "out of my comfort zone" caves in somehow:D

My track record with her books has been up and down, but overall I really like her writing & how her narratives worm their way into the characters' thought processes. So I'll read each book of hers and see for myself.

Oh, I see what happened. I said "Beatrice" (character in the PG book), not Bertrice Small. Heaven forbid, I'd never loathe BERTRICE. :D

I read the Wideacre trilogy years ago and remember liking it a lot. Somehow the brother/sister thing didn't offend because it was an integral part of the development of a thrilling storyline. It probably wouldn't be written today. Phillipa Gregory has gone a lot cleaner especially with her historical Tudor/cousin's war series which are good just in a different way.

Exactly. It's not bugging me at all and I agree that this story wouldn't get published as a mainstream novel today. But the way Beatrice goes about destroying everything to protect Wideacre - even destroying THAT in the process too - has been one of the best stories I've read recently.

Finished
(what a story!) and have started one that's been long on my TBR
. 1640s Italy - not a setting much seen in HR!

Choice quote from pg 9:
"The sight of her mother naked with that heathen sprawled on top of her, his slim, hard buttocks gyrating, had so astonished Morag that she had gasped."
And the "heathen" in question is the hero.
I think I'm already in love with it. :D

I can't wait to finish that Burford book so I can get back to something coherently-written. :P

You are such a trooper! LOL!

Haha, I just finished Once More, Miranda--and I'm on Flesh & the Devil! :D AFTER this, I'm going on a Gothic-only spree! ^_^ I know it's a gothic novel too, but I meant the quick and easy gothics...that I'll be able to read 4-5 a week. ;D
I realized I have lots more gothics than I thought I had. They're so small, that I don't notice them until they're all together and then...woah. :P
YES! I have a small hat box(that I painted for a living room accessory) full, and then I have a crapload on my Kindle, too. I think those gothic novels are relatively fast reads too, we could stomp a chunk of them out of the to-read list, in no time at all! I actually made a post on Read Lists about it.
Just finished
. It was a bit rocky in terms of pacing, but the hero was a serial cheater and made no big deal about it so it was real old school ballsy. Really liked it.
In other news, I won an Ebay lot of 28 Zebras. Go me!

The book lot (I have several of them already, but I have so many books that getting a lot with NO dups is impossible now. *sadface*)

The one I'm most eager to read is Ecstasy's Torment. I can't find a review or description of it anywhere, so I want the book, like, RIGHT NOW to solve the mystery. :D
BookLuva28 wrote: "Yes! I just added that to my list. Which ones do u already own?"
Passion's Pleasure
Savage Storm
Tender Marauder
Elusive Swan
Sweet Fierce Fires - From a review on Amazon: "once the hero realized what a first-class [meanie] he is...he gets kinda sweet...but NOT sweet enough to make up for almost making her "do it" in front of his ex-mistress and her friends. NOTHING would make up for that." Why haven't I read this one yet????!? *moves to top of TBR*
Traitor's Caress
Allegheny Ecstasy
Forever in His Arms
Destiny's Temptress
Captive Heart
Update: Books have been spoken for and handed out.

Your heart's big as a mountain, Karla..but I won't read till you've already read. I'd feel terrible. ;O
LOL Sweet Fierce Fires needs to be circulating; when someone snivels on a review, I fully read through the entire wall of text, for explicit details on why I may enjoy that romp. :D Lol

Oh no, don't feel terrible. Grab away. I insist. :D

They're so sparkly purty. *__*
The one about the Swan, I love swans. :D Mean critters, but so graceful and mystic. I probably wouldn't have one for a pet, if I wanted to keep my eyes from being pecked clean out of socket. lol
