Don't know name of series

Hi y'all,

Can any of you help? I've deducted from the back cover of Footfree & Fancyloose that it is the second book of a series, Bass Ackwards and Belly Up being the first in said series. I have no idea what I should call the series though and can't find more info than that they ARE a "series" or at least (pre-)sequels to each other.

Just because one book is the sequel to another doesn't make them a series. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just thought it would make it easier to realise the books belong together, as I got the second book through the GR Recommendations and went out to buy it, without realising that it was actually the 2nd of two books... :D

I don't think it's a rule of thumb, but I've seen people use the name of the first book as the series name. Of course, that's only until the author or publisher gives something more definitive.

A quick look at the help pages doesn't show any indication of a minimum number of books that constitutes a series. I've seen authors add the series designation with the first book published.

We could also make sure that the order is clear by adding in a statement to the book description(s).

Thank you Sarah - I totally agree that whenever possible series should be created so that we can read related books in order. The title of the first book works well as the series title, given nothing preferred by author or pub. Also, sometimes, the name of the main character works well, as in the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child... Killing Floor

Absolutely agree. If the books are only loosely linked, you don't have to number them, but I want to know they're linked.

Lacking other info, I'll usually use the name of a linking character. Or the name of the setting, if it's reasonably distinctive. You could name this series "High School," since that seems to be the linking factor.

I used the name of the first book to create a series for the two, as there are 4 roughly equal characters in the books.
