Trin got home early. She didn't go to the public high school; she went to private, and the private school had a half day. She did all her chores and homework, left a note for Tom (who went to a school for the deaf), and began walking into town.

"hey look down there" Lyla said pionting down the hill at Trin "it's the girl you hate"

"Yeah..." She glared out the window. "I swear, if she makes me deaf one more time, it won't just be that hair of hers that gets zapped..."

Trin walked past the Dairy Queen and was tempted to go in, but there she sat. Leah. Trin cringed. She hurried along to the pet store.
Laya grinned as she walked away. "Toot-a-loo!" She turned to Lyla. "Think she got scared for her hair?"
Trin stopped. Then she turned. If she didn't go in, she'd be scared forever. She calmly opened the door of Dairy Queen and walked to the counter without even looking at Laya.
Laya glared at the table. "Dang it.. she walked in... Where's Christy and Sarah? They were offered a ride-well, I was, too, but forgot and ran.. But the point is, I got here and we're still waiting for them!"
Trin looked at Jade. "Hi...do I know you?"
"Jade. I like it. Do you go Golden View?"

"Guys we might wanna get out of here ASAP." she said in a hurried whisper.
Shane got into his car, making sure that none of the other staff saw him. He had been tracking a scientist in the area and they were on the move, to a DQ. "Must be those clueless girls about to get caught." he said stepping on the gas.
"Oh look she made a new friend. at least there won't be any fighting. Yeah when are they gonna be here the french fries are cold."
"What? Why? What's wrong?" Laya questioned, but took the urgency in Sarah's voice seriously. She got up.
Trin couldn't help but hear Sarah's whisper. Time to make things right. Trin thought. She walked up to their tabel. "Hey, you guys need a hand?"

"He was talking about someone? What do you mean? I was jogging and noticed you were gone!!" Laya got out of the booth confused, but knew this had to be serious. "Where's Christy?"

Laya looked down. "If these guys are bad... I've heard of people after people like us. If they were following you, they already know. So, why not show them what we can do? Girls... I think it's time for a storm."

Sarah took a deep breath and outside went pitch black. "That should confuse everyone."
"That sounds fun. I can make him deaf."

"Lyla? How about some water. Once you get that done, I can start the lightning." Thunder was heard in the distance, since there were already some clouds. "This is one storm no weather mad would have seen coming." She looked at Trin. "No.. they need to hear the storm. Maybe take their voices. That way they can't scream for help."
Trin made a face. "Eww. I really hope not."

"Let's go everyone we all ate already." Lyla said

Shane stood frozen. She had found them. "EVERYONE GET OUT!" he yelled.
Sarah snapped out of her trance, she was the first one to follow Shane's directions.
