Sarah smiled. "Hm. I think the only hunt I've been on is for an okay cereal brand." she said laughing.
The Gym coach walked in hands on her hips. "Get into two lines! One for girls and one for boys! I want it alphabetical and done in less than five minutes! Go!" She yelled so everyone could hear her.
Everyone scrambled.

Christy rolled her eyes. If they were teaching survival techniques well then everybody better beware the evil cereal monster. It's typical for them not to know the real way to survive in the wild. Christy managed to scramble into the right spot at the last moment.
"That took you..." The Gym teacher paused, "Four minutes 53 seconds! Not bad. But I expect you're in the right spots or we'll be running for the whole class period today. "
Sarah made a face of pure boredom at Christy. "Help me." She mouthed.

Sarah smiled. The Gym teacher was going down the lines making sure everyone was in the correct order.
((I'm cool with either. And I meant Shane being his/her first name, not last.))
Christy held her breath as the Gym teacher passed her. She let it out softly as the teacher went past her.

(( Oh! ))
Shane McGregor sighed internally. Another batch of Juniors. Troublemakers. He wished he could just suck some of them into the earth. He took a deep breath. "Alright munchikins! This year is going to be tough, so get used to it! I want to see two laps around the track. GO!" he yelled.
Sarah sighed. She caught up to Christy and stuck out her tounge. "Yuck."

Shane got to the track before any of the students. "They definitely need to shape up. I wonder if any of them are Elementals......" he said to himself.
Sarah and Christy were some of the first ones to the track. "The Gym Monster looks deep in thought." Sarah whispered to Christy.

Christy checked. "Definitely. He seems kind of sharp..." she looked at him carefully. Suddenly, she elbowed Sarah. "He's checking us out!" she hissed.
Sarah looked over at him. He was looking at them funny and then she realized something. SHE WAS GLOWING!
"I know why! I'm glowing!" Sarah said pancikedly.
Shane looked over at the faster students, one of them caught his eye. Was she glowing? Wait! Was this girl an elemental?

Christy quickly grabbed Sarah. "Pretend you've sprained your ankle, now!" she ordered. Christy picked Sarah up ((yes, she's incredibly strong)) and set her down next to one of the side lights in the gym. It would help disguise her glow. Christy could feel her palms heating up with fire, as they always did when she was nervous or worried or angry.
(( NIce. ))
Shane walked over to the two girls. "What seems to be the problem?" he asked the girl with red hair.
Sarah started to moan. "I think I sprained my ankle."

Christy looked at him quickly. "Um, yeah, she sprained her ankle, and she said that sometimes having light shower her makes her feel better." she looked at him hopefully, praying that he would buy her story.
((yes, I've done that many a time.))
((yes, I've done that many a time.))
"Hm... I see. I don't believe that sorry." Shane said rocking his head back and forth. "What's the real problem? I've seen her kind before." he said.
Sarah started to panic. "Well I got glow in the dark paint all over me this weekend. It won't go away. So can I go to the nurse?" she said lamely.

Christy shot her a look that said "I'll do the talking." Then she turned to Shane. "Could we step out for a moment please?" she asked quietly.
" I'll take her to the nurse. I promise she'll be okay Miss... Miss. " Shane said. "Come with me." he said to Sarah.
Sarah gave Christy a panicked look. "Okay."
Sarah gave Christy a panicked look. "Okay."
Christy shook her head firmly. "I'm new here. The office lady told me not to leave her side. I have to come with her!"
"Okay. Then come with us." Shane said stubbornly. He started walking, pulling Sarah along with him. Once he was out of the Gym he turned to her and Christy. He pointed to Sarah. "You're an Elemental, aren't you?" he asked sharply.
"Yeah. Your point is?" Sarah said cautiously.
"Yeah. Your point is?" Sarah said cautiously.
Christy immediately went into the defensive position, maneuvering herself so that she was between Sarah and Shane. She let her hands burst into flames, letting those themselves be her answer.
"Hm... fire. That's a pretty rare one. Light is pretty rare too. Me not so much. I'm Earth. " Shane said pulling up some soil out of the ground and letting it rest in his palm.
Sarah was speechless. "So there are older Elementals, besides my grandmother." she whispered.
Shane looked past Christy to Sarah. "What did you think? That we die young?"
Shane looked past Christy to Sarah. "What did you think? That we die young?"
Christy still didn't trust him. "What do you want?" she hissed, still in an aggressive position. Just because he was one of her type people, didn't mean that they were friends or acquaintances.
Shane got the picture that the fire girl had been through a lot. "I just want to get to know you better. I can train you guys to better control your powers so you don't have outbursts like light girl here." Shane said point at Sarah.
Sarah looked down. It wasn't like she could control her glowing.
Sarah looked down. It wasn't like she could control her glowing.
(( You know what? There should be some more conflict in this. Should we have a dark side and a light side? Or scientists that want to do experiments? ))
Christy put a hand on Sarah's shoulder. "How do I know I can trust you? You wouldn't even have let me come with her, had I not told you that I was new. Any other teacher would have let me come without questioning." she raised her eyebrows, expectantly.
"Let's just say that there are bad people out there and I had to assume that you were one of them for sticking by her so quickly. " Shane said shrugging.
Sarah smiled timidly at his remark. Christy wouldn't exactly like being put in the 'bad guy' category automatically.

(( So, scientist or star wars. Sorry I put that because I felt silly. Scientist or good vs evil? ))
((hmmmm... we don't have any "bad" characters, so probably scientists))
Christy was outraged. "What, my dear teacher, gave you the implication that I would be one of those 'bad people'?!" she felt her hands flare up again. "I am one of her closest friends and if you even dare to question it, I promise you it will be the last thing you will ever do. Is that understood!"

(( Yeah. ))
"Hold it there fire. I only had to assume. I wasn't judging you in particular. By the way I didn't catch your names, I'm Mr. McGregor, but if you want you can call me Shane, or," he sighed, "The Gym Monster."
Sarah spoke up. "I'm Sarah, and that's Christy, the not bad person. She's very intelligent and a great friend."

Christy was still giving Shane the Death Glare. She would have appreciated it if Sarah hadn't told him her real name, but was she going to do? Christy smiled superiorly. "This" she spat, "is a little rhyme my old teacher taught me: When you assume, you make an ass out of you and me."
((yeah, just the rhyme uses the swear word and I couldn't figure out how to get around it. but I promise not to do it again!))
(( I guess. ))
Shane muttered something under his breath. "Okay. Yeah. Well. Meet me after school in the Cafeteria if you want anymore information. Now please get back to class."
Sarah gave Christy a look that said: "Don't do that again."

Christy just glared at Shane and then turned around. She was not compelled to be nice to someone who thought that she might be a "bad person". She grabbed Sarah's arm and dragged her back to class, grumbling the entire way.

Christy laughed. "Yeah, this isn't very much for me. Normally I would be running through the trees, bow and arrow in hand, with some man-eating animal chasing me!"
