Brightcloud frowned slightly. "Oh, okay. I thought I had checked... Well, good job, Shadowpaw. I was almost out." She glanced at the dirt for a minute before asking, "So how are you liking being an apprentice?"

"I see..." Brightcloud murmured. "Is it your mentor? Is the work too easy?" She felt like she was beating around the bush too much, but she wanted to be sure.

((I have to go!)) "I know what you mean," Brightcloud mewed. "I was a warrior apprentice originally, too."

Shadowpaw looked at her, amazed. "Really?"
"Yes, really," Brightcloud meowsd, getting lost in memories. "Our medicine cat already had an apprentice. He was almost ready to get his name. But then, a terrible green cough epidemic swept through. Snowfur's and my brother died. So did the medicine cat apprentice." She paused for a moment. "I had never liked fighting, or training as a warrior. So, when he started looking for a new apprentice, I said I wanted to. And here we are."

"The reason I came to talk to you," Brightcloud began tentatively. "Is that Oakpaw decided to be a warrior apprentice. I know that you want to be a medicine cat, but the trouble is, so does Icekit." She looked at him to see his reaction.

Brightcloud felt worry flood through her. Why did she have to be the one to do this?! "I am going to the moonstone(pool?) to consult StarClan about this tonight. I should've probably waited til then to tell you..." She sighed. "I think that you would make a great medicine cat apprentice. So would Icekit. I just have to talk to Starclan." ((Who will play starclan?...))

((I dunno... Brittany (my sister) said she doesn't really care either way, as long as she gets made some kind of apprentice soon. I think Shadowpaw, but it's just more interesting this way. *evil*))
Brightcloud looked at Shadowpaw. "I should leave soon, so I'm not traveling in the dark." She had already gotten approval from the Clan leader, so she just ate some prey and started the journey. After what seemed like many hours, she found the Moonpool(stone? Sigh...). Since the sun was already down, she laid down next to it, and opened her thoughts to Starclan. ((Sorry to be so abrupt with it all, I have to get off relatively soon.))((Jordan, do you know if Scout's still on?))

((Kay.))Brightcloud found herself on a tall, grassy hilltop surrounded by mist. She called out, "Hello?"
'Hello,' an echoing voice rang out. Gorgestar, a leader from many seasons ago, and Hawkfeather, the medicine cat who had mentored her, appeared in front of her. "Um, hello," she mewed. "I have come to seek you advice with-"
'Choosing between Icekit and Shadowpaw, we know,' Gorgestar mewed.
"Oh, you do?" Brightcloud meowed. "Well..."

Hawkfeather purred.

Brightcloud frowned. "Yes, I do. It wasn't at all pleasant, like having something wonderful missing. Like a part of me wasn't there."
"That is how Shadowpaw feels right now and Icekit is still a kit" Gorgestar pointed out.
"Like Oakpaw, as a kit all he wanted to do was be a medicine cat" Hawkfeather said "And now he is becoming a very skilled warrior".

Brightcloud nodded. "I think I understand. I wouldn't want to wish that feeling on any other cat. And, Icekit has shown great potential for fighting and hunting."
"I have to go" Gorgestar purred. He went up to Brightcloud "I know you will pick the right cat" then faded into nothing.
"I'm so proud of you" hjawkfeather purred. "Watch the admirer and the lover for they will be..." he trailed off.

((Hi, Britt!))"Thank you for your wise wisdom," Brightcloud rubbed muzzles with Hawkfeather briefly. "It is good to see you again." The dream ended, and Brightcloud saw that the sun was already rising outside. 'Wow, I was here for a while,' she thought. She started back to the camp at a quick, but reasonable pace. After she arrived, she went straight to the leader's den. "Roaringstar?" she called.
((Britt, we'll try to get you apprenticed soon.))
((skipping boring training...))
Mapletail and Breezepaw reviewed catching squirrels. "Okay, now do you think you can catch one on your own?" Mapletail asked.

((Sorry,had to leave for a second.))"I spoke with Starclan, and I have made my descision," Brightcloud began.

"I have decided to take you as my apprentice." Brightcloud inclined her head deeply. "Congratulations, Shadowpaw."((So, can we just pretend that Sarah Mithlec/Mapletail has always been Breezepaw's mentor then? :) I like her.))

Shadowpaw looked up delightedly. "Really? Oh thank you!"
((Wonderful!))Brightcloud smiled. "We will start your training soon, once it has been announced to the Clan. I need to go speak to Icekit." She frowned slightly.

"Then go ahead," Mapletail nudged her. "Start sniffing."
Brightcloud purred. "I'd love it, but it might be easier for Icekit if you're not there."Breezepaw tentatively started sniffing, and finally spotted a squirrel. Feeling a little more confident, she crept towards it and pounced, pinning it down and killing it quickly. She looked back at Mapletail. "Was that okay?" she asked.

((Yup, sorry. Starclan has spoken spoken poken oken ken en nnnn!)) XDBrightcloud approached Icekit. "Icekit?" she asked. "Can I talk to you?"
"Sure!" Icekit mewed "What is it?" she bounced in circles.
Brightcloud chuckled, them became solemn. "Icekit, last night I spoke with Starclan. They told me that they believe that you will do wonderfully as a warrior apprentice." She smiled, feeling stupid inside. "I think so, too, and I hope that you feel okay about that," she finished her speech awkwardly.
((I gtg ))Icekit stopped bouncing and nodded "that's okay." she tryed to hide that she was sad.
Mapletail nodded. "That was great. One more, and you're done for the day."
"Okay," Breezepaw said. She did the same thing as before, but this time the squirrel was in a tree. She knew the branch was too high to jump to, so she started climbing up the trunk silently. She crept up behind the squirrel. It leapt away just before she could kill it, and she lost her balance. She fell to the ground, landing in a crumpled heap.
Brightcloud licked the top of Icekit's head. "I know it must be disappointing, but I have seen how great of a warrior you'll be. I also know that you'll become an apprentice very soon."
"Breezepaw!" Mapletail ran to her side. "Are you alright?"
Oakpaw padded over to Icekit "Hey Icekit"!
