Cheaper by the Dozen
question
Did you read or are you going to read it? OR Did you like it if you read it?
I read this book back in the sixties as a teenager. I hesitate to admit but I think it was a Reader's Digest Condensed Book version. I remember I really enjoyed it - I found real connection as the eldest of seven children with the management of large families!
I read it recently, and really enjoyed it. It's lighthearted and funny.
One of my favorite books as a kid, I probably read it a couple of times. I was pretty disappointed with the movie though. The family was much more interesting in the book.
I finished the book a few days ago and it was an excellent read. There's something interesting and/or funny on just about every page, if not all of them.
I read this book last year and laughed so hard #1 seeing the father getting the children organized and the teaching ie typing or another languages. This is a great read!
I read Cheaper by the Dozen and Bells on Their Toes years ago. Both are great reads!
I loved the book when my dad read it to us as children. It wasn't quite as funny when I reread it as an adult because the psychological manipulations of time management as applied to raising 12 children were more obvious, but I still enjoyed it.
I read it eons ago. One of the first books to make me laugh out loud.
Loved the book and it's sequel.
Loved the original movie too.
God bless,

I've read the book a couple of times and have seen the movie with Clifton Webb many times and loved them both. It's a funny read and I thought the movie was pretty funny too, even tho, as typical of Hollywood, they changed things in the movie version.
I also thought the movie was dull compared to the book. I first read this book as a child and LOVED it. I recently re-read it as a grandmother, and was appalled by the amount of (psychological) arm-twisting involved.....
I read this book years ago. the movie was very good { the one from the 1950s}I liked that this was about a real life family. and how they managed a large household.
