Rinou | 101 comments Hello !
I have a problem with the De Warenne series by Brenda Joyce.

Here on GR the books' order is done according to the first date of publication, as seen here http://www.goodreads.com/series/41203...

But on the author's site the order is done according to the period in which the book is set, as seen here http://www.brendajoyce.com/novels_pfv...

So I don't know if the order has to be corrected or not. What is the GR's policy in this case ?

Isabell (purzel) | 50 comments In such a case I would probably add another series listing to add a chronological order and leave the other listing as published order. Some people like to read the books in the order in which they were published, other prefer a chronological order, so both ways of sorting have a good reason.

Then I'd probably make the chronological order as shown on the author's homepage the primary series for the books (simply because I usually consider the author's website the more reliable source). Do you by any chance have one of the books at hand and could see in which order the books are given there (if such a series listing exists in the book)? That might also be an indication.

Rinou | 101 comments There's no series listing in the books I have.

Won't creating another series be a little too complicated for users?

We have many such series with a published order and a chronological one.

Rinou | 101 comments I've never seen one here (I guess I'm not looking at the right books lol)

I'll do it that way.

Thank you

Isabell (purzel) | 50 comments If you'd like to see an example how it could be done, here are the two listings for the Chronicles of Narnia:

1. Series listing in publication order

2. Series listing in chronological order
