Nas I don’t really know how I feel about this but I own a copy of blood red road and inside there are LOADS of extracts from reviews by newspapers or websites, and nearly every other one compares the book to the hunger games (don’t ask my why, apart from them both being dystopian they are nothing alike) and to put it plainly, they are all saying blood red road is better.

Amos Cassidy I have read the The Hunger Games trilogy and also Blood Red Road. I liked Blood Red Road but I absolutely loved The Hunger Games. To be honest I really don't see many similarities between the two.
The writing style in Blood Red Road is difficult to get used to, but once you manage to get over it the story takes over.

Dani Neira I really liked the way it was written, I thought it brought it to life :)
In my opinion, it's got less of a message than the hunger games. I think I prefer BRR's plot, and maybe even its version of the dystopian world, but...you've got to love the HG characters.
I also fail to see a huge amount of similarities in the two books.
I absolutely cannot wait for Rebel Heart! :D

Ultra Graytiger this is awesome its a book that you've never heard about and blood red road isn't the same as hunger games hunger games is about a game where kids kill each other for entertainment and punishment and blood red road is about a girl trying to find her brother that she cant live without. i think blood red is better but hunger games has the thrill to but it just doesn't stay that long. blood red road has this chill that makes you wanna read more and your adrenaline comes because you want to know what happens next.i like how blood red road doesn't have chapters i mean it does but it doesn't stop half a page and then when you flip the page there comes chapter 2 or something it has those three symbols and then comes the next part.one of my other favorite books is Eona and Calvin and Hobbes oh and bone i have others to,but way to many to type !!!!!!!

Autumn If I hadn't discovered the book how I did, I would have gotten too mad at it to read it due to those stupis Hunger Games comments and excerpts and whatever. The Hunger Games blew me away. And Blood Red Road was a book I enjoyed reading and I liked the characters. They were both excellent. But there were way too many reasons NOT to compare them. It depends on the audience reading the books whether or not one is better. PUblishers (or whoever puts those things up) are silly and should not have loaded the book with those things. And the people who said those things are silly.

Abby I liked blood red road but come on. You can't compare it to the hunger games. The hunger games was awesome

Anshu I've read both and I like them both very much. But if I had to choose one, I'd choose THG. Besides the fact that they are both dystopian, the other major resemblance would be a kick-ass heroine with similar character. (But then most of the dystopian novels now have such heroines; like Divergent,Inside Out to name a few.) And also story-lines in both books start with the heroine's sacrifice for her sibling.

But I don't think it's right to compare the two books and judge which one is better. Both are amazing in their own way.

The odd dialect in BRR really fascinated me and the plot was really good too. Can't wait for the second book to come out!

Jared W I loved Hunger Games and absolutely hated this book. They're not comparable at all.

нαιℓєу I think this book was 1% better then the hunger games. The reason why was because I was a bit more interested and it was soooo good!

C.penn I adored Blood Red Road. And Just about everything in the dystopian literature right now is better than the Hunger Games. You can't go wrong.
