Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments Yes, I have, and I've seen other people doing this on the bus or in the street.

When choosing what to read, do you have a minimum GoodReads rating?

message 2852: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments No, I mostly base my choices on the blurb and partially on the front cover. There are plenty of books that I've read and enjoyed which have had less than average ratings and vice versa.

How many languages can you speak?

message 2853: by Susan (new)

Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments Only two — English and (bad) French

How long is your TBR list?

message 2854: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6872 comments 1030 (Don't know that I will ever get to read them all)
What is your favourite genre to read?

message 2855: by Susan (new)

Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments Gee, Dale!!!

Which three authors would you invite over for dinner and what would you cook for them?

message 2857: by Leonie (new)

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3564 comments Terry Pratchett, Brandon Sanderson, and JK Rowling!

I think they'd enjoy beef pesto salad, with chocolate truffle cake for dessert.

Do you prefer cats or dogs? And why?

message 2858: by Susan (new)

Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments Cats — because they're more relaxing.

Have you ever been door-knocked by a politician? (Had my first experience today)

message 2859: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Not yet. Have they got your vote after that experience?

What's the longest you've ever been on put on hold whilst on the phone?

message 2860: by Susan (new)

Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments Elias — Pfft! I didn't invite her in because I wasn't going to vote for her anyway and I was in the middle of my Saturday afternoon cleaning. Priorities!

At least 20 minutes. I just switch to speakerphone and do something else while I'm waiting.

Which personality (living or dead) would you most like to be seated next to on a long-haul flight?

message 2861: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments She probably just wanted to make sure that she was in your good graces.

As for who I would be seated next to, probably someone like my grandfather or if we're going the celebrity route, John Wayne.

How often do you use colourful language?

message 2862: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 87 comments Rarely if ever - I deplore bad language- I used the F word once at work after a gruelling phone conversation with a very difficult customer. I had bosses gathering to step in if I needed help but managed to complete the call smiling sweetly. I hung up and yelled at the phone f you mister. Hand Over mouth in horror at what I said and a huge applause from my workmates who knew how close to the edge I had got. Boss went back to his office saying he was going to put the date in his calendar as the day Sally said the F word. The dam reminder still comes up every hear - LOL

Sunrise or sunset?

LOL!

message 2866: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Going back to Sally, sunrise just barely wins this one. And that was a great story too! There must've been some relief after using that F word once you hung up despite the horror of it all.

Do you sing?

message 2867: by Susan (new)

Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments No-one wants to hear me sing, believe me! Once I burst into song and startled the cats, who ran from the room and cowered in their basket. (True story!)

If you could sing, what kind of singer would you be?

message 2868: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I guess cats have no filter when it comes to that sort of thing.

As for what kind of singer I'd want to be, I think it'd be pretty cool to sing like either Elvis, Stevie Wonder, The Bee Gees or The Beach Boys.

Out of all the books you've read, which character are you most like?

message 2869: by Susan (new)

Susan (goodreadscomsusanaustralia) | 452 comments Elias wrote: "I guess cats have no filter when it comes to that sort of thing."
