Neko Downton bbey

message 2702: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Haven't read the books either...I know.

No idea yet...probably a pasta bake.

Favourite food/drink combo?

message 2703: by Neko (new)

Neko Beer with a really good pizza

Have you achieved one of your life goals?

message 2704: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I'm on my way there.

Same question.

message 2705: by Neko (new)

Neko Yes, i have :) Now working on another one hopefully.

Can you pull an all nighter easily?

message 2706: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Yes, but I try not to.

If you could hang out with one character for a day, who would it be?

message 2707: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Max from Golden Boy

What character would you run from?

message 2708: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Hannibal Lecter.

What character would you go dancing with?

message 2709: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Don Tillman from The Rosie Project

What character would you want to go on holidays with?

message 2710: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Harper Grayson from The Fireman

Would you pull off an all nighter to finish a really good book?

message 2711: by Neko (new)

Neko I have in the past so yes!

Have you ever put reading over anything important?

message 2712: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Not yet.

Have you ever spent an entire day doing nothing but reading?

message 2713: by Neko (new)

Neko Yep..Pretty rare but i enjoy when they occur.

What do you do for a living?

message 2714: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Yes - last Saturday. Rained all day. Read all day!

Last brand new book you read?

message 2715: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Snap. Mum and student.

What do you wish you did for a living?

message 2716: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I guess the boring answer would be that I'm already doing it or on my way to doing it. The more interesting answer would probably be a film director.

Do you enjoy what you do for a living?

message 2717: by Neko (new)

Neko Yes

What time do you usually go to bed?

message 2718: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Somewhere between 12 and 2. It usually varies depending on what I'm doing.

Have you ever been mistaken for being younger/older than you really are?

message 2719: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Yes all the time

Do you feel young for your age?

message 2720: by Neko (new)

Neko Some days i do and others i don't at all..lol

Do you like dunking biccies into a coffee/tea?

message 2721: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Yes! The Tim Tam Slam being my favourite.

Are you an old soul or young at heart?

message 2722: by Neko (new)

Neko Old Soul..been told this more than a few times.

Do you get to enjoy the long weekend?

message 2723: by Elias (last edited Jun 09, 2016 11:49PM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Kind of.

Funniest thing you've seen or heard this week.

message 2724: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Today my husband got 'pulled over' by a policeman, he turned out the be our friend. There was some panic involved as it's double demerits and he doesn't hold many! Then I was in my car and saw him speed off to chase an unlicensed motorbike rider.

Do you have any book/reading quirks?!

message 2725: by Neko (new)

Neko Hate cracked spines for graphic novels so i open them in such a way there will be no creases or cracks on the spine..lol only time i don't care is when the book is 2nd hand.

Do you like to binge watch tv shows or prefer week by week installments?

message 2726: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments In theory, I like the idea of week by week instalments to keep you tuning in, especially with ones that end in mini cliffhangers but in reality, I much prefer binge watching.

Have you ever pranked someone and if so, what was it?

message 2727: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments We used to do silly phone ones on sleepovers. So original.

What is the favourite thing about your bookshelf?

message 2728: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I have two things: the fact that it's neat [well, to me anyway] and that if I close my eyes, I know exactly where each book is.

What is your least favourite thing about your bookshelf?

message 2729: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments I'm impressed ;)

It holds enough but not accessable or practical :(

What did you do that was fun this weekend, or at least caused some smiles?

message 2730: by Elias (last edited Jun 12, 2016 10:00PM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments haha, thanks! It usually freaks a few people out (me included) but it sure does help if I ever need to put the books back on the shelf.

Got two tickets to go to Vivid at Taronga Zoo tomorrow night. It definitely caused some smiles because I'll have finished my final exam for this semester tomorrow.

Same question.

message 2731: by Neko (new)

Neko Sharing several different beers with my Dad and learning about VPNs (PPTP and OpenVPN). And getting things to finally work when even the IT help couldn't answer my problem.

Do you like soft pretzels?

message 2732: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments PPTP and OpenVPN? Just what I need to get in the zone for my programming exam tomorrow!

I personally have no problem with them but I prefer the hard-crispy pretzels. They're one of my favourite snacks.

Do you prefer graphic novels or regular novels?

message 2733: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Regular. Have never read a graphic. Although.. at TAFE I just heard about the backwards one. Seems I'm a bit backwards.. Didn't know!

E-book or hard copy?

message 2734: by Neko (new)

Neko Both..haha ;p

Do you enjoy going on camping trips?

message 2735: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Yes! Better before kids came along. Just easier. But liked roughing it without facilities and relying on ice etc.

Do you read more during holiday time?

message 2736: by Elias (last edited Jun 16, 2016 07:03AM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I'd say it's about the same. Before the holidays, I'm mostly engrossed in my textbooks and after holidays, I'm mostly engrossed in novels.

Are you going to be seeing "Finding Dory"?

message 2737: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4428 comments Not sure about at the movies as master 4 has never been. Not sure it would work. But definitely will by the DVD!

Do you enjoy working out which celebrity voices are characters on animated movies? Ellen DeGeneres was so distinct in Nemo!

message 2738: by Elias (last edited Jun 16, 2016 11:20PM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Yes, especially when I recognise an actor's voice but can't seem to put a name or face to it. Although, I will say that when "Finding Nemo" came out, I had no idea who Ellen DeGeneres was. Later on when I started watching some of her stuff a light bulb went off in my head and I remember thinking, "Gee, she sounds a lot like Dory!"

Has an animated movie ever made you cry?

message 2739: by Neko (new)

Neko Plenty of times as a child...Lion King...damn...that just gets me so teary :(

Can you draw?

message 2740: by Elias (last edited Jun 17, 2016 01:49AM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Loved that movie as a kid. I haven't seen it in so long, though! I hope I still love it! "Toy Story 3" on the other hand, that movie bordered on almost scarring!

Technical drawings, yes. Others, kinda. Although I always think in pictures when I'm trying to learn something or write.

Can you do impressions and if so, who of [whether it's a celebrity or someone you know personally]?

message 2741: by Neko (new)

Neko Yeah, Donald Duck...lol..I can mimic his voice...My Mum taught me it from a really young age and every now and then I used the voice to make people go 'WTF?' or make children laugh. I'm also pretty good with marvin the martian but haven't tried that voice in a long time so maybe not as good.
So, it's not a complete impression but part of one :)

(I haven't yet seen TS3..*runs away*)

Have you ever tried calligraphy?

message 2742: by Elias (last edited Jun 17, 2016 03:05AM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Donald Duck AND Marvin The Martian? That's awesome!

And no need to run! You can walk! There's no rush!

I have tried calligraphy but unfortunately my hands don't move that gracefully across the page.

On a scale of 1-10 [10 being flawless, almost to the point of being a work of art], how neat is your handwriting?

message 2743: by Neko (new)

Neko Being a lefty my handwriting is pretty shocking...BUT...due to that I've worked on perfecting my handwriting over the years with different styles and such. Yesterday I got a compliment on my neat handwriting and said, 'It's always a true compliment when I hear that from someone cause I'm a lefty!' Made the woman laugh but she knew where I was coming from. So after all that..I'd say I'm a 5.5 but when I don't care it's like a 1..lol

(There are these neat pens called Parallel pens by Pentel which makes calligraphy writing a bit easier..Discovered them this year..sooo fun..but i'm not good either).

Have you ever tried sour beer (not off beer..it's a style) before?

message 2744: by Elias (last edited Jun 17, 2016 04:40AM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I've seen a few people writing with those parallel pens. I can already see it would take lots of practice to perfect!

I haven't tried sour beer. I actually looked it up and it doesn't sound like something that would get along well with my stomach and definitely something I wouldn't like to referee when things get out of hand.

Have you ever had a lucid dream?

message 2745: by Neko (new)

Neko Ohhh..haha..That sounds like a fair enough reason. I love them..As strange as it sounds they can be so creamy!!

Yes, some have been amazing and others have been nightmares. One is reoccurring and it's one I'd love to forget but won't. With this particular dream I'll never forget when I was telling my body to 'wake up' so I could stop the dream but no matter how much screaming I couldn't get my body to wake. It was like being stuffed into something small and trying to break free. Might sound a little corny if you've never experienced something like that or you don't really believe in dreaming...But I find them super important and often listen to them.

*phew* that was a bit of a longer answer than I'd planned.

What are you currently watching that you can't miss on TV?

message 2746: by Elias (last edited Jun 17, 2016 10:40PM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments I think dreams are important as well and I definitely get different types of dreams which correspond to my current state [whether I'm stressed, worried, happy etc.] I usually write some of them down [or the good ones anyway] and use them in my stories [some dreams have even helped me crack certain story or plot problems, which is definitely a plus!].

I'm currently not watching anything on TV at the moment. My head's too far stuck into the current book I'm reading, Armada by Ernest Cline. It's a book that's almost tailor made for gamers. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't loving it so far.

Same question.

message 2747: by Neko (last edited Jun 18, 2016 01:04AM) (new)

Neko That's great you're enjoying the book so much :) I just checked it out but I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi when reading it..Gaming, I love it.

Hmm...Guess Game of Thrones...Always got to be on top of that to discuss it at work the following day otherwise Wentworth.

Have you ever blacked out before?

message 2748: by Elias (last edited Jun 18, 2016 01:35AM) (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments It's a fun read! I picked it up because I loved Ernest Cline's previous novel, Ready Player One.

Yes, I have but only once. It was kind of scary.

Have you ever broken something at a friend's house by accident and not told them?

And thanks for the friend request btw!

message 2749: by Neko (new)

Neko Yes, but I got found out by another friend who basically outted me...It wasn't fun cause I would of dealt with it in my own time except my friend putting me in the shit making it worse than it really was!

No worries :D!

Do you live by your head or your gut?

message 2750: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Definitely gut, which, most of the time, is in tune with my head.

If you could spend a day being your younger self, what age would you choose to be?
