A Book on the Kindle- Out of Time Series

I love my books and there is nothing like a book in the hand but there is the kindle, which I have on my macbook and imac. Pixel of Ink has free downloads of select kindle books.Even though I am trying a book on kindle it will never replace "the book" I have dl'd When the Walls Fell (Out of Time series) by Monique Martin
It sounds like it will be good but noticed there is one before it called Out of Time:A Paranormal Romance. My question is for those of you who have read it...Do I need to read the first book to know what is going on in the second?
