Jessica sharp What are some of your ideas for the forth book in the hunger games series?

Cat Her daughter, whom would be named Primrose Rue Mellark

Jessica sharp what about her son's name?

Jessica sharp what about her son's name?

Whitney Gale needs a happy ending...

Patriquo Screw a sequel. Do a The Maze Runner or Star Wars sequence and make a PREQUEL. Haymitch was one of the most interesting characters give me more on him. Give me more of the first uprising. I want to learn more about how Snow came in power. I want to learn more about Katniss' Mother. Give me some twists and turns I won't see coming.

Jonathan Gale Mellark

message 9: by Mcw (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mcw I could understand a prequel, but please NO MORE books on top of these 3. She ended it perfectly and it doesn't need any more interference. When written as a trilogy it needs to stay that way. When more books start coming out, it's a sure sign of an author just wanting to capitalize on fame and fortune and the greediness ends up really making for some AWFUL books! (for example: The Pretty Little Liars series should have stayed at 8 and then Francine Pascal should have NEVER EVER come out with a 10 years later book to her Sweet Valley High Series).

Joe Duh A book about all them capital poeple in the arena after they decide to ahve a final games.

You have good ideas.

maddy I don't think doing a fourth book would be right. It is a trilogy. Doing a sequel from Gale's perspective might be interesting though...

Nutmeg Awesome She should do something like what rick riordan did with PJO and then the heroes of Olympus. Add on, but create a new series. Then it stays a trilogy and satisfys fans.

Finally someone to agree with .i think that any book after the last hunger games is too much it would be cool to talk about Haymitch but S.Collins would have to be careful not to make it like a repeat

maddy Great idea! It would be hard to do Haymitch because people might get bored though.

Kristin Cook Actually, I would be all for a prequel trilogy... Lots of material ripe for the plucking!

Shelena What are some questions that were left unanswered that should have been?

Patriquo I think Haymitch has a lot more too him, but we just didn't see it because it was written in 1st person. It's very limiting in this way. It'd be great to see her write in third person omniscient, or even third person limited, to see what Haymitch and her mom, and even the mayor of District 12 went through growing up while Snow was gaining power. Collins is SO good at imagining up the arenas, I'd like to see more of that as well.

Morgan I think a prequel would be great, but not a fourth book because it is a trilogy... meaning 3! Another idea would be to do like a "Dark Days" and have Suzanne Collins talk about before District 13 was destroyed and before the Hunger Games came about

Maia All About Haymitch he's the best anyway!

Maia Nutmeg wrote: "She should do something like what rick riordan did with PJO and then the heroes of Olympus. Add on, but create a new series. Then it stays a trilogy and satisfys fans."

OMG she really should

Erica it has to be abo gale.

plus there is no 4th book.

Stephanie I'd love to see the same story again with Peeta's side. Him being the narrator, getting into his head and what he was thinking during all of this. What happened with him when the Capitol took him, all his journeys and his difficulties with Katniss. What was going on through his mind when he was hi-jacked. What was his life like at the bakery before the reaping. Not necessarily a parallel trilogy. It could just be one book.

Lauren Oliver did it with Delirium, by doing a short story on another character in the book. I'd like to see Suzanne do the same.

Kayla It might be interesting to do a prequel in the point of view of someone from District 13. We could see what it was like when District 13 was destroyed during the Uprising.

Or I would love to read about when Finnick was in the Hunger Games, maybe even when he fell in love with Annie. :)

message 26: by Nora (new) - rated it 2 stars

Nora Andromeda Elle Nicole wrote: "Her daughter, whom would be named Primrose Rue Mellark"

Or Primrose Rue Everdeen Mellark. I would hate it if all of these years of feminism had done nothing. Did Katniss even get married? I know that she had kids, but I remember her saying that she wouldn't ever get married. Even if she did get married, I really, really hope that she didn't change her name. Everdeen is an awesome name and I hate it when people take their husband's name.

Charlie I believe a prequel will do justice rather than a sequel. The story of Panam, and the rise to power of President Snow, and of course the reaping on Haymitch on his Quarter Quell. And of course the gruesome story about the creation of the Muttations, I mean their are mad scientist, but what made the Capitol think adapting such creatures? Are they really created or discovered after the post-apocalyptic havoc.

Carrie Schor I agree- a prequel. Haymitch, Finnick & Annie, or the same story/timeline from Haymitch's perspective. It turns out he was sneaky.

Jennifer Dupriest Either a Prequel about how the Hunger Games came to be, or a sequel about someone ending THE HUNGER GAMES for everyone (including the capitol kids) for good!

Andrea Blanch Carrie wrote: "I agree- a prequel. Haymitch, Finnick & Annie, or the same story/timeline from Haymitch's perspective. It turns out he was sneaky."

yea, Haymitch's interesting. :D

Tanvira the hunger games with the capitol kids and how katniss tries to stop it realizing how wrong it is

message 32: by Sue (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sue Andrews Let them rest in peace!

Nora Tanvira wrote: "the hunger games with the capitol kids and how katniss tries to stop it realizing how wrong it is"

At the end of Mockingjay, I think she says something about how they ended up not having the Hunger Games for the Capitol.

Ayu Adisty well, if she write a book with several stories about how Finnick, Johanna, Beetee, Wiress, Annie, or even Enobaria won their Hunger Games, i think it would be interesting.

great, now i sounds like one whiny rainbow hair capitols =__=

Elisabeth Wheatley "Everything has to end sometime or else nothing would ever get started" --Doctor Who.

I know it's hard to reach the ending of an awesome series, but I say to Suzanne Collins: let your characters live happily ever after! Please don't let there be anymore trouble! Let them live out their lives in peace and grow fat and get old and play with grandchildren and not have to worry...they've earned it!

Grace B i don't think there should be anymore
the books kept getting more and more violent
i mean prim getting burned to death... please. if that was made into a film it would have to be at least a fifteen just because it is so violent.

i really enjoyed the first one. the second one was fine but i struggled to get through the third one.
if there was a fourth one i just wouldn't bother to pick it up!

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

No more Hunger Games books!!! It would not be a good idea!

Amanda No that's enough with the HG. I think it ended perfectly and there isn't any more to tell. The only option I could think of would be a prequel about how the Games etc. all started in the first place. I think the story was done perfectly though and anything else would only spoil it.

I would hate a fourth book! The series ended perfectly, and what would it even be about? The games are over so it sounds stupid

Elisabeth Wheatley Andromeda Nicole wrote: "Jessica wrote: "what about her son's name?"

Isn't it kind of weird to name Peeta's son after Gale? How about naming him after Cinna or someone like that? :)

I think it would be hard for Katniss to be reminded of Gale everyday. Cinna is a better choice.

Melody What about from President Snow's point of view? Not just the 74th Hunger Games but how he came into power as well? Also, Haymitch and maybe even the first ever Hunger Games? Annie and Finnick's Hunger Games and relationship.

Olivia The story from the victor of a different Hunger Games and her love story. Or more of a story of what happened with the uprising with the 13the district that caused the Hunger Games.

message 44: by Katrina (last edited Apr 15, 2012 07:42PM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Katrina Welsh i think the idea of a prequel is really good. having a sequel would just ruin the essence of the book and it'll be like the author is just milking the success of her book, thus producing crappy books. she's got enough material to work with; Haymitch, Snow, District 13. Although, I don't think a different perspective of the same story would be to exciting. I mean, it'll be interesting, sure. But the reader will just get tired of it really quickly.

Ariel Joe wrote: "Duh A book about all them capital poeple in the arena after they decide to ahve a final games."

I'm not sure they did that since Coin died.

message 46: by Julia (new) - added it

Julia If there was a new series, I don't think it would be called the hunger games series anymore just because of the fact that there's an epilogue, so the Hunger Games series itself is officially over.
But I do think that there should be another series about her kids,

Gabriella A book (prequel) about the whole district 13 thingy and how North America was destroyed and stuff like that

Mel (Daily Prophecy) Patriquo wrote: "Screw a sequel. Do a The Maze Runner or Star Wars sequence and make a PREQUEL. Haymitch was one of the most interesting characters give me more on him. Give me more of the first uprising. I wan..."
I agree! Another book will spoil the whole serie, but more information about the background of the Hunger Games, the uprising, that would be nice. Or indeed, something about Haymitch, one of my favorites :)

message 49: by zuzanna (new) - added it

zuzanna A prequel or the same story written from another perspective sounds good for another book, rather than another sequel. Most of the loose ends from the trilogy were tied up in Mockingjay and, as much as some people dislike it, I think it's enough of a conclusion.

the fire burns inside me WAIT WAIT SHE'S DOING A FOURTH BOOK? OMG! REALLY SOMEONE TELL ME THIS IS TRUE.
