Bailey | 57 comments So what are your theories on Patchface?

Creepiest dude in the Seven Kingdoms honestly and I really don't know how to get rid of him.

He just needs to GET AWAY FROM SHIREEN and run back into the sea I KNOW I KNOW OH OH OH.

Amanda | 18 comments Melisandre thinks he is evil too..
It makes you wonder what part he play in the books to come!
I think he will kill someone.. Just a weird twist guess! : )

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) I think he may be someone important, perhaps even a deranged Ironman, could be anyone.

message 4: by Bailey (new)

Bailey | 57 comments I'm guessing he's somehow an agent of the Drowned God since he mysteriously survived that boat crash. And the gods are all so ANGRY that he has to be here to do something horrible. Shireen dreams of being eaten and Melisandre sees in her fires with blood red lips....

So he'll try to release Greyscale in full force back into Westeros? Idk just a theory!

message 5: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Yes like you said^ he might have something to do with the Drowned God, maybe he's some sort of idiot savant priest who shows Damphair up or something. Whoever he is, and whatever he has it i him to do in the subsequent books, it's exciting ,this not knowing:)

Bailey | 57 comments It's also scary not knowing! And all of his fool's riddles that keep coming true... they're freaky!

message 7: by Mach (new)

Mach | 198 comments Which of his riddles came true?

What if Patchface is really another Targaryen how crazy would that not be.

There was the riddle about the shadows, "The shadows come to stay my lord, stay my lord..." which we hear waayyyy before we even get mention of Melisandre's ~shadow babies. So he could have been talking about that, or he could have just been talking about the danger from the White Walkers/the idea that if Azor Ahai fails Westeros will be plunged into darkness.

He also told a riddle about the Red Wedding. "Fool's blood, king's blood, blood on the maiden's thigh, but chains for the guests and chains for the bridegroom, aye aye aye." Fool's blood - Cat killed ~Jinglebell. King's blood - Robb :( :( :( :( :( :( Blood on the maiden's thigh - Roslin's deflowering. And the remaining guests and Edmure were all held captive in chains.

And you never know! GRRM already popped one Targaryen up out of nowhere so who's to say he can't do it again!

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) Excellent points about the cryptic nature of Patchfaces pronouncements, just goes to show, that nothing can be taken for granted, the same might apply to our favourite single word giant:)

Eyehavenofilter | 764 comments I have a feeling he/ she? is in hiding, from what, we have yet to find out.
The craziness may have started out as stress from the storm but, I think it's all an act now, to keep him/ herself safe. As for the ranting, Perhaps this character doesn't actually speak the language, and it's a way of learning?
It's easier to play stupid if you know what stupid is, than it is to play clever, not knowing anything clever.
As we all know George R.R. Martin likes to tease us with intrigue.

We're talking about Hodor, yeah? Because godddd I honestly don't know. I'm kind of frustrated with Bran right now (and I know he's just a kid and I love him too much to be mad at him) because warging into a living human is NOT okay. Do we even know if Hodor is still alive at the end of ADWD? I don't really remember. I know Jojen is maybe dead but I don't remember about the others.

Eyehavenofilter | 764 comments Poor Hodor, such a pure heart!
Im only in booky 3 but at that Queencastle he acted Direwolfish?
What's up with that?
It's a rhetorical question, don't tell me everything, I'm not done reading.
Again.... Just a thought from left field.

Okay I won't say anything about Hodor except that there will be more on him later.

But omg the Queencastle wow wasn't that just the worst thing to read ever? Jon and Bran were yards away from each other and they didn't know it and who knows if they'll ever get a chance to see each other again?!

Ugh, Stark kids reunion or bust honestly.
