M. I just checked the list of pilots CW is working for the 2012-13 schedule and I noticed a show called The Selection and it seemed it was based on this book?
Does anyone know if that is the case?

Thanks! Yeah, I thought it was weird but CW is probably trying to ride on the success of the Hunger Games. They will probably change a lot so it doesn't really matter that the book hasn't been published yet. I like the concept of the book even though initial reviews haven't been all positive so I would give the show a try.

CW hasn't decided yet which pilots they will pick. There are other stronger contenders and I think they can only pick two new shows.

Noël I just hope they don't change it up too much, if CW decides to pick it. I hate it when they take the name of the book and completely change the scenes. I read the book and it was pretty good. Hopefully they won't mess it up.

M. CW didn't pick the Selection. So it's all good.

Juliet It's actually still in the running. It was announced that "The Selection" would be a mid-season replacement.

Trina The CW announced yesterday that they did not pick it up for their fall season, which is what they had been planning on at first. They didn't like the pilot/casting, so they are re-casting and re-shooting a pilot to go up again for their mid-season (next Spring), but even though it is still in consideration they haven't officially picked it up yet. M. So I guess it might replace Gossip Girl or any of the other new shows that don't perform well. The casting definitely needs to be redone. I haven't read the book, just the blurb, but I do not think the guy they picked to be the prince looks much like a prince.
I also like the fact that they will now just use the book as starting point and the TV show will be only loosely based on it.

Nicole Susie wrote: "They totally have Prince Maxon and Aspen ALL WRONG... William Moseley seems better suited to be the Prince.. sigh..."

I totally agree! Ethan Peck looks too... Non prince-y, you know what I mean?

Nicole Good! We should buy the permission thing and make it into a movie!!!! Using our own characters, of course... ;)

Nicole Absolutely! Get your $1000000000 ready!

M. It seems that CW will reshoot the pilot because they didn't like some of the performances and the writing. That is why they are only using the book as a starting point now. Aimee will keep the main role though but nothing has been said about the male leads.

Lexie i thought it was becoming a TV movie......

Ilana I saw that the cw picked it up after I read it. Glad that I read it first though. I really loved it and I hope that they don't mess it up since book 2 isn't out yet

Nicole Are they using the same characters?
