Yeah, they seem to be pretty short chapters, so I agree it might go by pretty quickly.

The writing is pretty simple in my opinion. I think it helps that I have seen the movie. I have some images in my head now that matches what I'm reading. I don't let the minor differences between the book and the movie bother me.

i finished chapter 10 today(tuesday) too. Had to catch up because I tried reading the first 5 yesterday but I had a song running in my head and couldn't focus. But yes I agree, they are pretty short and simple chapters. I like the fact that the author mentioned himself in the book as a character. I've never read that before. Even the author description in the back of the book depicts him has the elder from Lorien.
Honestly I haven't seen the movie since it came out so the differences between the actors and the characters don't bother me much either, though I am planning on renting the movie again once we finish reading this.
It is definitely an easy read, but that commonly happens with YA fiction. :)

I agree with your assessment with Bernie Kusar. I thought his character is a cute addition. I feel the romance angle is a little mushy and forced, but the storyline itself is intriguing enough that you want to keep on reading.
