I think Taylor Lautner did an amazing job and that he shouldn't be booted off becaue he's not the tallest!! he's already been going to the gym and getting way buff!!! (which you can see on the tyra show with rob and taylor) and michael copon is ugly and doesn't look native american whatsoever!!! I hope someone agrees with me because if you don't taylor is doomed!

Actually from what I have read and the articles that I have posted Barnes wants to play Aro one of the Italian Vamps so I don't think that it will be him....I hope they keep taylor but he and the new guy do look a lot alike....

Sorry but a lot of people are in denial.. IF you read the book AT ALL youd know that taylor is just not right for the rest of the movies. Hes not nearly big enough!!! hes supposed to be well over 6 feet and taylor is lucky if hes even 5'9''. Taylor did a great job in the movie and i like him as much as the rest but hes just not right.. and ive seen people say that they wont watch the movie if taylors not in it.. To those people i say apparently you are a Taylor fan not a twilight fan.. if you were youd want what is MOST ACCURATE.. Also people are worried that Michael looks really cocky... Michael PLAYS cocky bastards.. that doesnt mean hell make jacob cocky. HE DOES fit the physical description for jacob so i say what the hell. id watch him :o)

I don't think they are going to find a 6'5' native american guy to play Jacob and Michael is only 6'1". Which is only 4 inches. He looks like he could be Taylor's brother so what's the difference it looks cheap and low budget when they change actors in the middle of a series. No matter who plays the part they are going to have to do some computer animation or something so why not just keep Taylor...And I AM A TWILIGHT FAN!!!!! I read it the weekend that it came out, before many people even knew that it existed!!!!

It looks so tacky to change a character in the middle of a series!!!!! like stephanie said. and you guys aren't remembering that jacob has all his werewolf buddies that have to be well over 6' feet tall!!! and solomon isn't well over 6 feet tall and neither is krys!! so why are they replacing jacob because he's not that tall? they'd have to replace solomon and krys too because they're not tall enough!and is it really plausible to find 10 6'5 native americans to play the werewolves? no it's not so they shouldn't replace taylor just because he's shorter...... sorry i had to rant :)

Bailey I agree 100%! There isn't enough Native American actors that are over 6"5" plus what are they going to do about getting them to shave their heads. Solomon is listed at 5'11' and Krys is just a little taller than him...Maybe 6'1". That was their real hair in the movie so whats the chances that they will be shaving it all off?? Some things are just going to have to be different...I know it sucks and as fans we want to see everything perfect but I think we all know that its not going to be. They should just keep Taylor, Solomon and Krys (who I might add is super cute=P) If Michael wants to be in the movie or the director wants to cast him then he should play Paul, Quil, or Jared.

imdb isnt accurate. it also had catherine hardwicke as the director. IF it wasnt such a HUGE difference like the other actors whos height wasnt that different from the characters in the book it wouldnt be a big deal. it obviously is. Michael looks pretty close to taylor and he is pretty hot. Taylor is a little boy and jacob is supposed to be more mature looking anyways. i say go michael!

I said that they are not likely to find a 6'5" Native American...They can make him appear taller... they have done it for plenty of movies like lord of the rings so they can handle it with Taylor!

And IMDB says that Chris Weitz is the director...and New Moon is listed on Taylors page, it may not always be accurate but I sure hope that it is this time.

I will actually be kind of suprised if they do replace him after what all the fans have been saying...the new director isn't a fool and he knows that the fans are where the money comes from!!!!

Michael is hot but I hope they keep taylor so that the movie doesn't look low budget!! Taylor has been working very hard to keep the part and that shows how dedicated he really is to the movie. I don't think its fair to just hand it over to Michael. Plus did you know that Taylor is the only one out of the whole cast that read and was a fan of Twilight before he got cast in the movie.

Oh and Kellan and Jackson are both 4" shorter than their characters are supposed to be!! And Ashley is 7" taller than Alice...

Boy, Native American actors aren't hiding under rocks! There are several beautiful and TALL, as in 6'2/ 6'3, actors out there. This notion that Taylor Lautner is the only “Native, look-a-like" that can play Jacob is nuts. Indeed, the special effects used in the Lord of the Rings movies were great and believable, but the actors, while manipulated, still "looked" like themselves facially. Taylor would not only have to be digitally altered height wise, but facially as well. He cannot keep his cute, baby face and be convincing as the rugged, mannish boy/ boyish man that is Jacob. In fact, he would need so much altering, I doubt he would look "real". Besides, Rob Pattinson, Edward, is actually 22 so how can Taylor, who is truly 16, compete with that? It's supposed to be mannish boy vs another mannish boy; not boy vs man. Twilight is a triangle, not a duo. Edward and Jacob, while very different looking, are supposed to be equally beautiful or good-looking.

I still think thats something they should have thought about in the first place...changing actors now looks low budget and ridiculous. I would rather have him look younger than be someone all together different from the first film. The movie will not be perfect by any means but they don't need to make it look bad by replacing the actors.

You mention other Native American actors but can you name a few so we can check them out??? I have not been able to find many that resemble Taylor and are any taller than him.

Hi Stephanie, I totally agree with you that they should have worked out the kinks about Jacob's changing role and casting before they began. I'm one of those "Eddie Spears should be Jacob Black" fans. He's Lakota Nation, 6'2, the same age as Michael Copon, and his brother, Michael, who could have been one of the older characters, is 6'3. But besides Eddie, there's Tokala Clifford (he's 6'1) who could have been part of the pack, and Tyler Posey could have been a great Jacob Black also. Granted Eddie and Tyler don't look like Taylor LAutner, but that doesn't bother me because Jacob's character had very limited screen time in Twilight anyway. It's the following films where Jacob really shines and has, or should have, more screen time. Some other Native actors out there in general are Jay Tavare, Michael Spears, Michael Grayeyes, and David Midthunder. If I can figure out how to attach pictures of them--tried it and it didn't work for some reason, I'll send some; otherwise, just go to Google images and type their names in.
