Diane | 13052 comments Please post your nominations for the July books of the month here.

Our world selection will be set in the Middle East, and are limited to the locations listed here:
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
The books that can be nominated, however, are not limited to the books listed in this folder.

Our US State selection can be any book that takes place (at least partially) in the state of West Virginia (This state was chosen by a random list generator). Here are a few ideas to get you started (Books do not have to be on this list to be nominated):

Good one! I still haven't "been to" Bahrain yet.

Dee (austhokie) | 438 comments well, i've been to Bahrain, but I haven't "been" to Bahrain - if you get my meaning...lol! I loved it the times i have visited there, so i'm interested to see if a book set there lives up to it

Her Royal Orangeness (onlyorangery) Lark and Termite by Jayne Anne Phillips is set in West Virginia. I read it last year and totally loved it. I think it would make an excellent book for group discussion. (And *bonus* it can also count for Korea! :) )

I won't be participating in the group read, but thought I'd throw the title out there for consideration. :)

Diane | 13052 comments I have been tracking both The Meeting Point and Crowded With Voices: Thirteen Years In The Middle East (also set in Bahrain) for Kindle price drops to no avail. I'm also on a couple of waiting lists for them and have been for the last several months. I'm running out of countries to read, so perhaps I'll have to resort to paying full price for a book.
