To which Isis FG replied: "GR plans to add this at some point (at least last I heard, they were) but it's way far down on the to-do list. "
So, now that nearly three years have passed, how's that mythical to-do list coming along? Anyone know? I continue to see repeated requests for the same fixes, and yet there seems to be some wrench in the works that causes less-demanded niceties to take precedence over several seriously needed modifications... author name sorting, author aliases, multiple covers for same-isbn editions (so that Paula and the rest of us don't have to continue repeating and re-repeating, "Has the paperback been published with the original cover? We don't change covers since people like to shelve the cover they bought an alternate cover edition should be added if the new cover edition does not have its own ISBN."), etc.
Is there some master list titled "Programming Fixes Scheduled" that we can easily view to better know what GR is doing to make life better for us? Some kind of timetable for these things that the average user can refer to?
As a former programmer (with over 10 years experience), I can't imagine any company I worked for surviving under this sort of "lack-of-deadline schedule" - patience of our customers would have worn thin and they would have looked elsewhere. I hate to be the one to point this out, but if GR isn't sensitive to the needs of its "customers" (i.e., its member and non-member users), then a lack of customer confidence will grow, potentially having a negative affect on GR's reputation. I feel this is particularly likely since (1) GR is geared more to book readers and reviewers rather than book sellers and (2) goodreads is not the only "book site" on the Internet (though arguably still the best in the game).
~shrug~
Pardon the rant, but just my frustrated two cents worth (and yes, I know this could be addressed in another group, but... well, it has been almost three years, right? Surely, this is nothing NEW.)
Ranting here (instead of sending a message via the "contact us" link on the help page) is an exercise for your fingers, and not much more.

~sigh~ Just feeling frustrated with the lack of action regarding these often-requested and much needed fixes, Rivka; and I probably needed the exercise for my fingers more than the PTB needs another reminder. I'm sure they've heard it all before and one tiny ant ain't gonna move a mountain...

To which Isis FG replied..."
Please don't include me in your rants since I have no problem with it and can speak for myself if I do

Sorry, Paula, my apologies...
My point was not that you have a problem with it or can't speak for yourself but, rather, that you aren't the only one who has had to repeat things. You may not have a problem with that, but I do - I feel it's terribly inefficient, wasting a good deal of time and effort by librarians who must continue to repeat things or find "work around" solutions to problems. I find it exceedingly difficult to reconcile the "it's on the to-do list" with the continued requests for the same fixes to be done.
However, consider yourself disassociated with my aggravation and unrest over the lack of progress in these issues. I didn't mean to offend you; your comment was simply the nearest one at hand out of many dozens of other similar replies.

Is there anywhere else that I can get the image?

Can someone please add:
- this cover to this book (the existing cover has a white strip on either side of it)
- this cover to this book
- this cover to this book
- this cover to this book (also, this book is another edition of this novel - it was retitled for its UK release - so should be combined).
Thank you so much! Not long til I can apply to become a librarian myself... Thanks once again.

Sorry, can I also request one more:
- this cover to this book (same issue with white strips on either side of the cover)
Cheers.

I found a cover, do you have edition info like format, ISBN or ASIN?
