Got you liked Jim. I also liked the 4 star review.

Jim Graham (jimgraham) | 14 comments Tx, E, re liking Jim Graham and the 4 star review. That and the Republibot review were very encouraging. But in truth, I didn't half mind the 2-Star review I acquired recently either - it's why I'm here: to get comment and make my next one better.

What was your link? I checked off the whole lot on this version of the discussion, but only up till yesterday, quite late. Still on hols and don't carry the pc around during the day (which actually makes things like Twitter and catching up these Goodreads discussions a tad difficult!-)

Best
Jim

Thanks Jim - tagging anytime you have the time is great! And appreciated. I like you're comment by the way. We can all use a little helpful criticism if it makes us better writers. I think you already got me but in case you didnt, I'm here:

Jim Graham (jimgraham) | 14 comments If anyone wants to post their books and links on my FB page, go right ahead. I do say I'll occasionally post for other authors, just haven't got around to it, except to offer up a Michael Hicks freebie. Now I have. It may even make the page look a little more interesting.

If it doesn't work, let me know. I'll talk to the other side of my brain that acts as administrator and get something sorted;-)

Twitter, twitter, twitter. Gotta keep twittering. I started around March 20th, to promo Birdie Down. So far 400 downloads. It's a freebie of course, but it had to get noticed before it could be downloaded.

My view is the digital shelf has made it easier to 'print' a book, but that's it. Unless we promote it hard afterwards it stays there:-)

message 114: by Ginger (new)

Ginger Myrick (gingermyrick) | 226 comments I know. I though researching and writing a 500-page historical novel would be the hard part. Stupid me!

message 117: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 126 comments Hard part is definitely publicity. Especially when you are totally new to all the social media and basically introverted and hate making phone calls, sending cold emails, etc.

Jim, I meant to post my book on your Facebook page, but at the moment can't find my Facebook password. . . you see my problem? :-p I downloaded it, though. Looks interesting. Of course, my to-read list is long, but I'll probably get there by and by.

I've posted your book to my FB page, along with link. Let me know how it goes with BIRDIE DOWN. Never a rush.

The invitation to post on my FB page is open to all indies. They can just paste the blurb in as a comment, as I just did with yours, and add their link. Not sure if you need to be a friend for others to do this, but there is only one way to find out...

Scott Muller | 30 comments Nick wrote: "I really am not sure I like this! Why is everyone tagging everyone else? Are you reading other people's stuff, if not why are you tagging it?"

Nick, tagging provides a way for people to find books on Amazon. It is not really an endorsement. It is used to help you show-up in targeted searches. For example; if you have 100 tags for fantasy, you will show up higher in the search(page 2 maybe) than someone with 10 tags, who will be 80 pages back. If people cannot find your book, they will not buy it. Any yes, I do read other peoples stuff. If I like it, I'll write a review.

message 138: by Leila (new)

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 51 comments Caught up again. Liked and tagged you Ward, Luna, Rick, Jim (you could do with some more tags), Jeff (you need more tags) and Jimelle.

Just a reminder - tags should include genres (most important) not just random words! eg. fiction, novel, romance, paranormal, nonfiction, self-help etc. etc. Describe your book with the words people would use to search for it.

For those of you who can like and tag on Amazon UK, I’ve just discovered that my paperback (I don’t know how) is now available for purchase in the UK and it doesn’t have any likes or tags other than the ones I just added. I’d appreciate any more I can get! http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/146376359X

Thanks again to all!!

Hi Mingo I tagged your book, please tag mine: Freebies can be of use.

I write short stories no more than 8-10 pages pertaining to my book and offer those for free. I make sure to include a link to the book on Amazon. If people like the short story they buy the book.

I did this early on this month. It's worked very well for me so far.
