It was brutal ..I have this annoying habit if i start a book I have to finish it..but this one really tested that habit..ugh..
I too, like to finish a book once I start as you just never know BUT with Buried in a Book I just could not...I finally put it down at page 112. I have no intentions of going back to it. I might even sell it...I do not like to sell my books but this one has got to go."Rebecca wrote: "Cooking Up Murder..glad this one is over!"

Murder is Binding..can't say I loved this one ..i really didn't like this one and much as everyone else has seemed too..I think I'm in a bit of a rut..
Murder Takes the Cake..on the fence about this one..but will read the next one as its a first in series and was good enough to give the second one a chance
Rebecca wrote: "Cooking Up Murder..glad this one is over!"I've read this entire (to date) series. They're not bad, they're just not as good as other series. They're written by the same woman who writes the Pepper Martin series, Connie Laux (Casey Daniels / Miranda Bliss / Kylie Logan). I love the Pepper Martin books and liked the first book in the Button Box series.
My difficulty with this series is the stupidity of the main character when it comes to investigating. There's a part in one of the later books when she's investigating and drives out to speak to someone. She notices a car behind her off and on throughout the trip. After solving a few murders and being captured by murderers, wouldn't your first though be "I'm being followed"? Not our heroine. She even goes so far as to drive the route back in the darkness. And, she's being followed...
That being said, I don't hate the series. I will probably continue reading books in the series, getting angry when stupid stuff happens.

I continue to read the series, but I don't particularly care for the main character. Cozies usually involve main protagonists that you like or want to be friends with. Though I'd visit Tricia Miles' store and would hold conversations with her, I don't know that I would befriend her.

I"ll have to give one of the other series a try.. I'm always willing to try again..I figure I could be having a bad day or maybe just one particular book didnt sit well with me.. I find theat a lot with the Leslie Meier series.. its a hot cold thing..so I will definately check out the Pepper Martin series:)
