1) Description changed2) Cover replaced
3) Original publication date changed.
4) It should be 288 pages as settled in another Librarian thread. Some misguided Librarian ignored the Librarian's Note of another Librarian.
Thanks for all the changes except the incorrect page number.I have this and it is 277, not 288. Do you need me to prove it? Every time there has been a page number discrepancy, I've been able to prove I'm correct.
As I said in the other thread JSWolf, perhaps you need an alternate cover edition to get your copy correct with the 277 pages. The other edition was a PDF and 288 was established as correct at that time.
Sandra wrote: "I bet the ISBN is for both, and therefore the PDF was first and stays."I just found an official sample of the PDF and the PDF has a different ISBN.

So please make the page number in the ePub version 277.
Thanks.
Actually that sample lists the ISBN for the hardcover edition. Sample editions , especially on publisher websites, are not always the actual ebook edition. Some publishers use the same ISBN for all the ebook editions. Even the kindle edition may have the same ISBN, Amazon just uses their own number for their database.
I actually have this edition as an ePub from B&N and it's 288 pages, as I originally added to the edition back when this was published. ISBN's match, yes it is an ePub edition, and yep 288 in both Adobe Digital Editions and Nook.
It is odd that we have the same eBook in the same format yet with two different page counts. Mine is 277 while yours is 288. So I am wondering where the PDF came from?
JSWolf wrote: "It is odd that we have the same eBook in the same format yet with two different page counts. Mine is 277 while yours is 288. So I am wondering where the PDF came from?"Jon, you know that the settings of each individual ebook reader can differ. We talk about that at MR quite often.
The page count will not be changed. I'm sorry that upsets you.
An ePub read via ADE does not change One ADE is the same as another as far as page numbers go. ADE in BlueFire Reader (for iOS), ADE 1.7.2, ADE 1.8.2 (both for Windows), ADE on my 650, ADE on a 505 & ADE on a T1 all report the exact same number of pages with the exact same ePub.The only thing I am wondering is if the DRM adds pages.

Yeah, I've got nothing by way of explanation, just theories. It's got to be something to do with the source of the file--I expect B&N ePubs are slightly different in formatting since they'll be optimized to be read on a Nook, whereas other sources are going to be optimized differently. I have noticed an ePub file from B&N a friend has versus an ePub I get via the library will have different formatting/pagination, though. Was a bit frustrating to find that one out when we were comparing what page we were on...It's nice they usually are within 30 pages, normally, so the page count isn't off as grossly as it could be. Still annoying to deal with, though.
I have an iPad, loaded with Nook, Kindle, iBook and Overdrive software...the ePub page count does vary...don't know why, don't care enough to figure it out. It's pretty close, but does vary.
All of the different stores/ereaders/software differs in page numbers quite often. It's rather annoying but fast becoming a digital fact of life. :-(
Maybe for ebooks but not physical. Would you want to count every word you read? And it will also create more disagreement about what words would count.

Nook I would think would be ok. I know Bluefire Reader is ok. ADE for Windows and MAC are also ok.
Kim wrote: "Maybe for ebooks but not physical. Would you want to count every word you read? Pages are more misleading than word count, imo, because of font size, paper size, margin, etc. Look at this thread, we're having a disagreement about which page count from which epub format we should use. If we used word count, this wouldn't happen. There would be new problems, yes I agree, but it would be less problematic than page count imo.
Maybe we should have both a page and a word count field. More info doesn't hurt.

ADE does NOT change the number of pages based on margins, font size, page size. It's the same page count Sony Reader PRS-650, ADE 1.7.2 and ADE 1.8.2 (both Windows), & Bluefire Reader for the iPad. No changing of margins, fonts, font size changes the page count.
iBooks uses the total number of screen pages for it's page count so the font used, font size, line spacing and other settings that cause more or less screen pages do effect total page number. But iBooks does a lot of things non-standard and page count is one of them.
Kindle only handles Mobipocket and (maybe) KF8.
So there you go. The major ePub readers do handle pages in a standard way that works across multiple settings.
The only reason there is a discrepancy here is because we obviously have two different copies.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins needs some fixing up.
The description has an extra sentence that's a review, not a description. So please use the description posted here.
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12.
The cover is just too small. Here is a good cover to use. http://images.wikia.com/thehungergame...
This was not first published January 1, 2010. It was published August 24, 2010.
The correct number of pages is 277.
Thanks.
