Imprint information can be added to the edition line, or to the book's description. It does not belong on the title line, and certainly not as a series object.
Can you provide more details, what do you exactly write down in the edition line ?
You sure it's not in the "original title" instead ? that's what it's like in the book Flashback :
"original title Flashback (Harlequin Blaze, #416)"

Thomas, here is an example of how I recorded imprint information ... this particular book is also part of a series

Please don't add it as part of the book's description. If you do, it can then end up showing up on a different edition (to which it does not belong), as well as the edition you are adding it to.
We have long added edition-specific information to the description field. Unless it is the default description (which can be fixed if accidentally set that way), it won't show up on other editions.

That is true, but I have seen many print books listing how many CDs or Cassettes they use. I have also seen volume counts on single volume editions and audio books.
That's why I suggest that edition specific information should be put in the edition field, while content information should be put in the description field.

A lot of that comes from imports. Many sources use a single description the way we have a default description -- but they use it for all editions when they import. One of the many things librarians work on cleaning up.
While the edition field is useful, long pieces of information don't belong there, and frequently do belong in the description field.

Correct. Series names are optional/ok there; imprint names interfere with existing series functionality and should not go there.

Sounds good.

In my opinion, that is something no one should ever apologize for, not if they learn from the answers. :)

So I get the difference between imprints and series, but I'm still a bit confused on how to add a book with either or both of theses parameters.
For example : 9780373794201, it's both a book of an imprint "Harlequin Blaze" #416, and it's also the #2 of the serie "American Heroes".
So how do you do it when you add that book ?
Specificaly I want to add a book or several from one imprint, but it's not a serie.
Name (Foo, #1)
That says it's a serie, right ? so it isn't that? Couldn't find anything on the librarian help, except some warning "imprints are not series!" but no details.
