Did anyone else think that the 3rd series, 4th series, etc. was a bit much?

I always hated the 3rd series. I almost gave up on it once I got to it. Personally, as the series went on, I felt like it was being written by different people (which is true in a sense, I think they added a few more writers to the Hunter team), and I just didn't like it as much. The New Prophecy was amazing, and the fourth series was okay. I own most of the books, and yes, I plan to hand them down to my children (as some sort of crazy cat lady right-of-passage), but for now I simply think of the last few books as those novels that first start to get your kid into reading.

But yes, the first series is always the best. I can re-read it all the time. Whenever I lost faith in the newer series, I would re-read the original, and remember that I really want a conclusion. Seriously, I didn't buy 20-some-odd books to not know what happens in the end. (But now I do, so it's okay. I'll probably re-read them every now and then)

Paris Dunlop Yep, I loved the first and second series' and read the third, but didn't enjoy it as much. Then I read the first book of the fourth series and never continued. Yellowfang and Cinderpelt were both my favorite medicine cats. Above all I just didn't like watching all my favorite characters grow old! Especially Sandstorm and Firestar.

I haven't read those books in a couple years, and you just made me want to finish them! There's only 5 left, I can do it. :)

Rock i think the 3rd and 4th series were just plain stupid. the frist one was epic and the 2nd one was cool.

The series wasn't to much! It was perfect.

Raevyn "Lucia" [I'm in it for the books] Personally, I didn't mind them up to Omen of the Stars, but...
1)All those books are really hard to keep up with.
2) The Dawn series or whatever it is (the new one)is just going too far. I'll still read them, however, that first series was always best.
And...
3) The Erins should work more on Seekers Return to the Wild and Survivors.
