message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes it is!!!!! Actually, all of them are my fav!!! No joke!

Michelle Ward No! I really didn't want to finish it. Very disappointed. The first book was great, the second good, and this one was not up to par. REDO!

message 7: by M. (new) - rated it 4 stars

M. The first book is my favorite.

Heather I loved all the books in the series. I think my favorite being Catching Fire, but I absolutely loved them all. It stinks that people do not like Mockingjay, I think it was amazing.

Cher I suspect the people that don't like it wish the series had ended more "happily ever after" but that wouldn't have been truthful. I enjoyed all three and am sorry to say goodbye to the characters.

message 10: by Jack (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jack I hated this book. Katniss was so weak and broken, Peeta was hardly in it, and Haymitch was barely drunk.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

No, it was my least favorite.

Thank you for summing up my entire review. *highfive*

message 13: by Kristin (new)

Kristin Least favorite. First was the best, second was ok, and I really had to struggle through Mockingjay.

helen same. i think it was really stupid that in the end, it was like, 'Katniss, you killed Coin, and so the only reason why you aren't in prison was because we labeled you INSANE. and Peeta went crazy by the tracker jackers! Finick died, whereas gale (who i want to kill)didn't and ditched Katniss to go to district 2! And the epilogue... i shudder to think about it.

Amanda (Gale's Chosen One) Potter It wasn't my favourite, it was still good though.
Catching fire is my favourite :)

Amanda (Gale's Chosen One) Potter Why should Gale die?
That's really harsh.

Rachel Personally, I loved the first book and the second. However, the third book was good but it just wasn't as good as I thought.
I loved the growing and growing politics throughout the book, and that's what kept me going.
I just feel as though the ending of the trilogy was not right, but that could be my personal thoughts rather than collective.
I think the second was the best book, for me.

Charlotte I loooove this one :) I don't understand why people don't like it. Maybe because it is different from the other two, but that doesn't make it bad?
It's hard for me to decide a favorite, as it's always changing, but it is my friend and cousins favorite of the series :)

Jerome For me all the books in the series are amazing! Yes I know Mockingjay has a lot of lose-ends but I couldn't think of any more appropriate ending for this awesome series. It's not a happily ever after finale but it stays true to what the books are all about.

helen i didn't like Mockingjay much because i expected more after the author kept us all pent up with anxiety about what would happen. Gale should die because of the way he treated Katniss like she was for granted, and for treating her all distant even though he knew it was an act. He hated Peeta without looking at the world through Peeta's eyes, (imagine if you liked a girl and you thought she liked you and you didn't even knew she didn't like you until you guessed? that would suck) and was a sore loser.

message 22: by Lena (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lena NO!!!!!!!!!!! I hated(no offense) it was the worst book in the series. The first book was definatley the best!

David This was definitely my favorite. 1-4 stars 2- 2 stars 3- 5 stares

message 24: by Dina (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dina Omar I liked the first book the most. The second one was ok and the third one just plain depressed and angered me.

message 25: by Lena (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lena Same with me.

message 26: by Emma (new) - rated it 4 stars

Emma Mecham FAR FROM MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOATH, HATE, DESPISE, AND MANY MORE HATING WORDS, THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sonia Michelle wrote: "No! I really didn't want to finish it. Very disappointed. The first book was great, the second good, and this one was not up to par. REDO!"

Agreed!!

helen totally

Amanda (Gale's Chosen One) Potter Helen wrote: "i didn't like Mockingjay much because i expected more after the author kept us all pent up with anxiety about what would happen. Gale should die because of the way he treated Katniss like she was f..."

I'd love to know what book you're reading.
Because I can't remember Gale saying the words "I hate Peeta".
In fact I remember him saying "It'd be better if he were easier to hate". That is definitely not saying that he hates him. Is he super jealous of Peeta? Yes. Is there anything wrong with that? No, he is a guy after all. Peeta was even jealous of Gale.
Despite their jealousy I thought that they respected each other and certainly had no hate for each other.

Wow that is totally a valid point as to why Gale should die.
If he did imagine what would have happened to Katniss.
He also wasn't a sore loser. He didn't lose because it's not a competition. Besides he left because he knew it was for the best and that Katniss needed Peeta.

Lucy i know heaps of people dont like this book but i really enjoyed it however it wasnt my favourite of the series

message 31: by Kyla (new) - rated it 3 stars

Kyla It went from very dramatic and eventful to "walking through a dream" in an instant. I didn't care for the way we were in the middle of the action and then we were just told what happened. As many of the characters started to die off, I was sure the ending would at least justify their deaths, and it did at a "big picture" level, but was a little disappointing at a more detailed level. I thought the execution was predictable and from the point of the parachute bombs on, I thought that the voice changed and lost me. A bit disappointed, but I don't feel that anything was left unresolved. It was real, people come into and go out of your life all the time whether they just relocate or die. The Hunger games was the best of the three because it gave us much more room to imagine what "could happen" rather then just summing up what did happen.

Allison Michelle wrote: "The first book is my favorite."

Definitly yes ^.^ The first book should be the only book here. The second and third books were a disappointment.

message 33: by Clra (new) - rated it 3 stars

Clra G I actually thought it was the worst. My fave was Catching Fire, when we get to know our characters more in depth, especially Peeta.

message 34: by Michele (last edited Mar 22, 2012 12:17PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Michele Grimmett I liked them all, and although Hunger Games is my favorite, I was very satisfied how everything came out in Mockingjay. Gale left because after the bombs on the parachutes, he knew Katniss would always blame him. The other two books led exactly up to what happened. Civil war, Katniss' awareness of how people were using her to promote their own agendas, the treatment of prisoners of war, the fallout from the civil war, the great emotional and physical strain of the whole ordeal. There is a lot of PTSD and other mental illnesses. It wasn't even as bad as it could have been. I liked that it was a pretty unflinching approach, and I think the author should be applauded for taking the risks she did.

In an unscientific poll of readers in the library where I work, I have noticed that people who are younger tend to dislike Mockingjay more and people who are older tend to like or accept it more.

message 35: by Alec (new) - rated it 2 stars

Alec Mockingjay is possibly the biggest disappointment of a book. I didn't like it at all.

Scott (Ozziespur) Katniss murders the President & gets off ? Too convenient me thinks ...

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

This book disappointed me. At the beginning, it seemed pretty slow in my opinion. And the ending? Happy ever after, much? Obviously, I still like it considering it is part of the Hunger Games series, but my least favorite of all three.

Colby Not my favorite, because it's much slower. But it's really good, anyways.
People who say that this series has a happy ending aren't looking close enough. That's a rough ending. Katniss is probably never going to be the same person again...

Suzanne Toon Michelle wrote: "No! I really didn't want to finish it. Very disappointed. The first book was great, the second good, and this one was not up to par. REDO!"

I agree. I loved the first book, but the other two just weren't as good. I knd of got to feeling Katniss was growing more and more, and then it ended. I love the series as a whole, but the first book was the best.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

i lovec the whole series but the first then second then third.

Julianna 2,3, then 1

message 42: by Car (new) - rated it 2 stars

Car No way!!! this book sucked majorly!! she had such a good series and ruined it!!!! with this complete disaster she calls part of the hunger games series!!!!

message 43: by QR (new) - rated it 2 stars

QR I just really wish that the last one was written in third person, Katniss was a terrible narrator in Mockingjay.

helen i want finick to be revived, cuz he was so nice....
annie and finick was so sweet together

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

YES!

Ascel Kadhem Nahh, it was boring. The first book was my favorite.

Rasmus Overmark I didn't consider it bad by any means. Yet it was somewhat a tad bit below the other two. Especialy number 2.

Nabila NO. I think it was kind of a disappointing end for me. I loved Catching Fire the most out of the trilogy, and Mockingjay was very slow for me. I felt like everything was stalled up to the very end, then everything just kind of started crashing down. With Catching Fire something was always happening and we got more Gale :>

CekMoNSter I don`t give a crap to what others were saying, because I think Mockingjay is the best book in the series out of all..Hunger Games basically mimicked the whole Battle Royale too much for my taste, whereas Mockingjay had this nerves to end the whole conspiracy in on book, so yeah..Its my favourite..I think the reason why others didn`t find it enjoyable is because they thought the book will somehow repeat the same thing like aka the games for the whole series..For me, that`s stupid and boring..

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved all of them but mockingjay was my favorite...................
