Kelly Bostic (Bookworm4388) | 155 comments I love it so far!! I really like Mac, kinda on the fence about Barrons right now. Oh and I am wondering is he a vampire? I read the part where he had blood on his shirt supposedly from an injured dog he helped but in the book Mac made a comment that later she found there really was no dog.

Katya There is no way I can or will answer what Barrons is...that is the fun of the series and you have to read to the end of the books to figure that out. Sorry.

Just remember that KMM said that she said nothing in these books that was filler...that everything has something to do with figuring everything out. And she also said you have enough information by the end of Dreamfever to figure it all out....but don't worry...no one figured it out. For most of us we got parts right but it was mostly shockers!

I can tell you this....things did not end the way I thought they would.....but I was very satisfyingly happy.

Kelly Bostic (Bookworm4388) | 155 comments lol yeah it is always better to read it and figure it out on your own. the question of what Barrons in was really just me getting my thoughts of what I was thinking he is.

As I read the series my thoughts on what JZB is changed throughout.....Each book gives you new perspective.

Sarah | 22 comments This was the series I read just before the Guild Hunter series and it was not one of my favorites. It took me most of book one to even get into the characters aside from Barrons. My overall thoughts was that it was ok. It won't be joining my fav's list, but it's far from the bottom of the list either. To me, it just seemed to drag in places and the characters, Barrons aside, were just not that intriguing.

Sarah if you had asked me to begin with I would have totally agreed with you. I was reading the series when they were just being released and there was a year or more between releases. I read one and two and thought it's okay nothing great then I read the third and I ended up throwing the book across the room I was so frustrated with the ending. I decided to wait and try as a completed series and for me it made all the difference. The first two do drag but as the series gets further in it gets better and better. Mac I can honestly say that I hated to begin with but she did grow on me.
Now this series isn't for everyone and if that is the case for you then that is just the way it is but I would tell you once you get through the first two book it does get better and better if you want to try.
This went from a series I didn't really like to one of my fav's.

Sarah | 22 comments I did finish the series, and I did enjoy it by the en, they do definitely pick up momentum. Just looking at it from a series standpoint, the fact that it took so long to get into them, I can't honestly say they would be a favorite that I'd re-read over and over.

I would NOT re-read that series Sarah - and I do re-read often... but the Fever series left me feeling empty - didn't like Barrons at all - sure he's hunky but I hated the way he treated Mac. Just my op.
and now that I've read ICED
ehhh
not feelin' the love.

Wow, Both of your opinions are totally different from my experience and I am very intrigued that neither of you felt drawn in by that series.I'd love to hear more from you guys on this.

To both Sarah and Ark:

What about the series was the part that made you say, "hmmm, I'm really not into this.?

Can you give me an example of a hero in a series that is on your top list?

This is all out of pure curiosity now so please feel free to elaborate as little or as much as you want :)

Ark, I didn't really get Iced either. I really thought that we were going to jump ahead a few years and have Danny be 18 or something. I also didn't really care to focus on the different characters like Kat etc...

Sarah | 22 comments The biggest issue I had with the series was the pace. It just seemed to drag on. Mac was one of the most irritating heroin's I've read in a long time. from her childish, goody-goody, spoiled, little Miss Perfect persona that persisted far too long, to how completely submissive she felt to me throughout the series. I like strong heroines I like fighters and survivors. Rose (VA) is one of, if not my favorite heroine, I also loved Cat from Night Huntress. I've come to accept that I'm weird though, I'm not surprised that my opinions are different from that of most. lol
