*Sorry for the late post- it was rough morning.

I'm starting this week with Black Waters by Maija Barnett and Mortal Obligation by Nichole Chase.

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments I'm reading Rebel by Zoe Archer. I needed a break from Regency-era London, so I'm in 1875 Alberta Province, Canada.

Theresa Romain | 420 comments My reading's been slow for a few days since my young daughter's been sick. Still reading the March book, Sarah MacLean's A Rogue by Any Other Name.

Susan, are you enjoying Rebel? That was my favorite of Zoe's Blades of the Rose series, but I thought they were all good (& all very different).

I am kind of in a reading slump right now. Nothing sounds good. I think I just need to take a few days off from reading and then maybe something will appeal to me.

I'm working my way through it. In some places, it's brilliant; while in other places it's repetitive.

Hope everything's okay, Okie!

Kasey, I sympathise with the reading slump. I'm not going through one right now, but when they come they're a bummer.

I'm reading an ARC of a new to me author, Virna DePaul. It's a romantic suspense called SHADES OF DESIRE. Really great so far:)

I recently finished Meredith Duran's At Your Pleasure. It's a fascinating book, intense and different. I also read JQ's A Night Like This, and I fell hard for Daniel. I'm reading Maggie Robinson's Master of Sin now, only a few chapters in. Next up is Leigh LaValle's The Runaway Countess.

Shh I'm reading! (thequietone) | 92 comments I haven't read to many books lately that have impressed me either. I'm picking up The Duke is Mine by Eloisa James now so fingers crossed.

Irisheyes | 896 comments Finished LK's RAINSHADOW ROAD. Another winner for Lisa. I really liked it. I can't wait for Alex and Zoe's story.

After RR I read Catherine Anderson's COMANCHE MOON and now am reading COMANCHE HEART. I'm a Catherine Anderson fan so I'm really glad her out of print books have been re-released. Both books are good you just have to get past the fact that the whole Native American situation had such a sad outcome historically. I like the way CA writes relationships, though. She definitely doesn't shy away from the tough stuff.

Hey, Manda! Yea, everything is fine- this whole spring forward had me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. lol.

I got my word count in today #wip so I'm treating myself and kicking off the weekend early with The Gathering Storm by Robin Bridges and I'm hoping to read A Million Suns by Beth Revis as well.

I've been reading Eve and Roarke, which I had never tried. Very addictive. Its made me think about how few series there are which really follow a relationship through time--maybe the Outlander series, but what others?

message 12: by Theresa (new)

Theresa Romain | 420 comments Hmm, good question. One that comes to mind is Deanna Raybourn's Silent series--the two detectives fall in love and get married over the course of the first 3 or 4 books.

I don't know of very many series that follow a relationship through time like that in Outlander series. *I had to quit reading that series after book 3. A lot of little things frustrated me and in the end it was too much for me to deal with. lol!

I've read the Raybourn series, and like it. I find the Outlander series overwritten--there are moments in it I love (one where a sort of secondary hero, who is gay, writes a love letter to the primary hero, who is straight, and then burns it....) but you have to slog through so much to get to the powerful moments...

I think the relationship developed over time is more common in mystery series. It's one of the reasons I love Margaret Maron's Deborah Knott series, Julia Spencer-Fleming's Clare Fergusson/Russ Van Alstyne books, Marie Force's Fatal series with Sam Holland and Nick Cappuano among others.
